ako ang gusto ko maging katulad ni kai sotto ay si rik "the dunking dutchman" smits of the indiana pacers fame. they have identical height measurements, they both basically play at the same speed, and they have twinning skill sets w/ a similar feathery touch from the perimeter. the big difference though is the weight disparity because smits weighed 20 odd pounds more than kai (at this point).

the difference in poundage between the dunking dutchman and the boy from las pinas could be a good thing though because like most hefty big men, smits was plagued by foot injuries all throughout his career. baka if kai's handlers could make him effective at a little more weight range, baka umubra din at hindi madali ng chronic injuries sa mga paa at tuhod.

speaking of which, ang na-mimiss ko sa game ng mga power forward ngayon iyong laro ni karl malone at ni charles barkley. players na parang mga linebacker ang build and speed, pero ang game may mix ng roughness and finesse both inside and out. ang pinaka malapit na maisip ko ngayon na ganyan sana si kawai leonard na lang pero hindi din siya mahilig sumaksak tulad ni mailman at ni sir charles.

    pwede!

bakit kaya itong si scottie pippen nag-iingay lately. is it because he has a new bourbon whiskey in the market?

he declared recently that charles barkley is a fake tough guy, phil jackson a racist, and michael jordan a devious ego maniac who did everything to project a positive image (w/c is probably true )

Paano mo nasabing Rik Smits and Kai Sotto play at the same speed?

Please be reminded that Rik Smits competed against the NBA's best. Kai's comptetion is levels below.

Unless you saw each player live, we cant judge their speed based only on videos.

don't tell me you find rik smits quick. he wasn't notably fast for a big man, but he wasn't notoriously slow either. his damaged feet weren't helping him win foot races too.

he was effective in the nba because the indiana pacers slowed the game down almost to a grind. they were never a running team when larry brown and larry bird ran the show in indiana during his tenure.

the pacers were one of the 1st teams to spread out the floor in the nba via the long kick out passes for those perimeter shots and treys by the 3 guard-forward rotation excluding reggie miller and cris mullin. that gave smits the room to operate down low because of the excellent spacing around the key hole. not to mention , through the years he was helped in the paint by the athletic davis twins, sam "the big easy" perkins, austin croshere, and the versatile derrick mckey to do the dirty work.

aside from the fact that smits came into our basketball consciousness as a polished 22 year old nba rookie w/ a mature physique, rik spent 4 years as an accomplished player in the collegiate ranks. he was highly decorated as a varsity player in a shallow pool of draft hopefuls back in '88.

my point is, if kai is lucky enough to have a patient coach who will accommodate his skill sets, we may be in for a show. especially ngayon na maluwag sa ilalim dahil sa halos puro tres ang tinitira ng mga players ngayon.

    * bukas ko na sagutin iyong iba kasi antok na ako

Hinde ko maalala yun signature move ni Smits. Semi hook shot or one hander pero alam ko meron din mid range yan eh. Saka claasic big men and galaw post up eh itong mga centers ngayon gusot Kobe ang mga galaw eh.

Pero balance pa rin siya physically I mean again bumabalik nanaman ako sa overall built ng mga centers. He's 7'4" din or 7'3"
