No matter what type of bike it is, the rider must be fitted with the bike one intends to buy. I wouldn't buy a mountain bike if I'm not given a proper fitting especially if it is an expensive one. Some stores offer bike fitting free of charge as an incentive. When I bought my road bike and mountain bike, I was fitted to both of them. No regrets until now.

By the way, the Trek 3700 (2012 model) is a good starter bike. Just make sure it is a real 2012 model. Usually you can verify it's authenticity by it's serial number. You can contact Trek to have it checked.

speedunlimited, frenchtower salamat sa advice ah.

Gusto ko talaga yung trek 3700. But will check pa the 3900 model.

May nag-advice pala sa cousin ko na knowledgeable sa bike na hirap daw palitan ang 36 hole rims?

Paano pala malaman kung pwede ito for both v-brake and mechanical disk brake?

Nabasa ko pag mountain bike no need for a bike fit pero sa road bike its a must. Bakit?
what you're really paying for is the trek frame, you have alot of nonseries shimano components, only the rd is in series kaso altus pa. check other options with a lower cost frame but better components

2012 model but they still have 7 speed? i thought 8 spd na pinaka mababa on built bikes

re-Nabasa ko pag mountain bike no need for a bike fit pero sa road bike its a must. Bakit?

not really true, usual conception kasi-mtbikes are for recreation, if you shift to roadbike then you're a serious cyclist. so iniisip ng mga tao kung recreation ka lang you dont need the right fit masyado.

riding both mtbikes and roadbikes can be recreational or can purely be for competition so you need the right fit for both. the right fit will make you a better: climber, descender, enable you to do longer rides, optimize pedal stroke, and most of all will make you look like a true biker.

i suggest dropping by cartimar or quiapo para at least you have alot of choices. di naman masyado hassle pumunta sa bikes shops dun. in quiapo you can take lrt line2 and walk from recto station na. in cartimar take line2 and connect to line 1 and drop at gil puyat or libertad then walk nalang

36 hole rims? well the best combination of course is same hole hub and same hole rim for example: 32 hole hub for a 32 hole rim or a 36 hole hub for a 36 hole rim. but some wrenches (bike mechanics) can convert your wheelset configuration meaning they can lace the spokes so that a 32 hole rim can be fitted to a 36 hole hub. ang alam ko ang di nila kaya is a 36 hole rim to a 32 hole hub.

it will be hard to look for a 32 hole hub anyway. i have a 36 hole xtr hub coupled with a 32 hole xcr pro scandium rim for my xc bike. sa enduro bike ko 32 hole hub and rim. all my wheelsets are custom except for my roadbike which is built

basically discbrakes can be fitted to any rim, sa hubs lang hindi, hubs must be able to accommodate the rotor. vbrakes naman ang mapili sa rim but not sa hubs. vbrake rims must have alu surface para kumapit yung brake pads, eto yung shiny part sa outer diameter ng rim. kung isang color or material surface lang ang rim for discbrake only lang yun

    *frenchtower,

Saan store ka pala bumili na free ang bike fitting?

    *miles,

So ang binabayaran ko lang pala jan yung frame. Nagandahan kasi ako sa itsura and according sa mga nabasa ko matibay daw frame ng trek.

I dont want to assemble so built bike na bilhin ko. Any suggestion na built bike na ok. Around 20-25thou.

Hindi na pala ako magupgrade. Ang purpose ko gamitin sa papunta sa gym here metro manila and dalhin sa mindanao once or twice a year pag punta sa falls. Yung road meron pataas at mabato talaga. Masisira suspension pag kotse dalhin. Usually mga suv, van or pickup pumupunta.

As in gubat talaga itsura.

I'm not based in PH. I got my road bike fitting at Pedaler's West and my hardtail MTB fitting from Incycle. Both in Los Angeles.
