miles, me alam po ba kayo mga trails? yun di naman masyado mahirap for beginners lang po.Originally Posted by miLes
pinaka sikat is maarat sa timberland sa may san mateo, dami rin trails dun but you have to have someone na kabisado para magenjoy ka.Originally Posted by TFX
eto pa yung iba:
1. pinugay - cogeo ang daan going to boso-boso, mostly road to and maraming ahon, may trail din papasok ka sa puting bato. mahirap dito yung road lang kasi puro ahon tsaka mahaba. pero masarap ang bulalo sa may palengke malapit sa paenaan (tama ba spelling ku) mura pa. total bike distance from masinag start and end is 50k
2. mascap - bandang montalban nato, yung ginamit sa northface adventure race, puro trails to marami ring ahon pero may falls na maganda. total bike distance from aling norma sa montalban is 30-40km. ingat lang dito kasi lagi may NPA encounter
3. licao-licao-kaingalan - one of the longest trail ride here approx 11hrs bike to puro trail, may ahon may single track at may konting technical riding
4. sta rosa - one of the easiest trails, dito nagbibike ang rich and celebrities for those chickwatching here's the trail for you![]()
5. maarat-montalban via pintung bukawe - mostly singletrack and medyo technical pero enjoy.
dami pang trails... too many to mention here, the best is to have someone know hte trails talaga. the above mentioned pwede mu pang iba ibahin ang route. ive been to most trails, we usually meet at chowking in san mateo for trails in san mateo and montalban. kung malayo na like sta rosa, tagaytay etc may premeet muna. hopefully we can get together mtb tsikoteers tapos dun tayo sa sta rosa![]()
miles, thanks! dami pala pwede puntahan na trails. Pro the way you describe it eh mukhang kelangan ko muna build up stamina ko, mej matagal na din ako di nakakapagbike. Practice muna ko on flatlands.Originally Posted by miLes

bro Owner type ..goodluck ..
post mo bike mo ..then post din natin lahat ng may mountain bike dito or gawa tayo bagong thread
. sabay EB ba din ang mga tsikoteer na naka mountain bike ..![]()
OT:
miles: we usually pass the sta rosa route, but my group (and myself) don't use mountain bikes... we use racers. i usually ride with them once a month. kung andun ka sa sta rosa-silang route going to tagaytay, kami yung may nag tratrangkang putol ang braso.
OT rin:
*happy gilmore: bihira lang kami bike din sa sta rosa, too far kasi. madalas sa san mateo-montalban area, anyway will look for you pagnapunta kami dun
buhayin ko lang itong thread. i just got my mountain bike a few days ako. cross-country ang setup. still undergoing restoration. when i got the bike, its in a very bad state. walang deraileurs, gewang ang mga gulong, walang preno, bad bottom brackets, worst of it, didn't like the color... though on a closer look, the parts, well i got shimano hubs(front/rear), shimano alivio rapid fire/brake lever, 7 speed freewheels, triple plate sprockets(plato) and crankset, Lizzard V-Brakes, Maxxis Mobster 2.7 for the front and WTB tires 2.1 for the rear, double-wall rims, MOB saddle, suntour front shocks and odyssey pedals. all for 3 thousand pesos. what i did is that restore the the roller- bought shimano acera, restored the alignment of the wheels on front and rear, replaced the saddle WTB, bought cables for front and rear deraileurs, new set of brake shoes, cables, new handle grips, drive chains. planning to buy new sets of rims, disc ready hubs, new tires.
actually, something to look forward to during my weekends- even after office to unwind... na-mpluwesyahan ako ng brother ko, na may freeride na MTB...

For 23k? I will get the Giant Iguana at 26k lang brand new a lahat. good frame SL aluxx na.
actually, medyo malapit ko na palitan yung rims saka yung hubs kaya naisip ko magkabit ng discs. i still might want to consider hitting XC trailing after my project's done.
2.7 tires are too much for xc lang. 2.1 is just right, dont be influence by your bro's FR bike if you're not into freeriding, they're both different disciplines
fyi your suntour wont make it past 3ft drops but its good enough for xc riding
you're right in getting a diskbrake ready hubs, this will save you money when you've decided to get diskbrakes soon. take note of the rims thats you're getting, they might be for diskbrakes only...mapipilitan ka magdiskbrake nyan hehe
if you're done with your project pm me, we're always on the trails on weekends goodluck!

Depende sa suntour mo. at depende sa weight mo Suntour is coming back. And its tough and CHEAP Ive done some drop with it. no problem.
Ive purchase 3 suntour forks already and they get the job done.
A suntour fork can cost you P1500 to PP3000
