holy cow my wisdom teeth are impacted. actually 4 of them

my panoramic dental x-ray is similar to this:

as you can see the upper portion wisdom teeth are partially erupted. which i think causes the chaos on that row, making my 1st molar (I think) gums swell and masakit pa. on/off ang sakit nya eh jusy yesterday eh extreme pain na, na napapunta na ako sa dentist talaga. akala ko sira yung said molar sabi nya di naman ayun nilinis lang. sabi nya baka daw impacted, at pag xray, ayun impacted nga. sabi nya kailangan daw ng surgery medyo nakakatakot naman yata yun lol.

i think the parially erupted upper wisdom tooth causes more pain than the unerupted lower wisdom tooth, cause yung crown mismo ng wisdom tooth e tumutulak sa tooth beside it. yun nga malamang cause na nagseswell ang gums ng first molar. am i correct with the conclusion na yung lower impacted tooth are not needed to be extracted na? only the uppers ones? although the dentist never said anything about leaving the lower impacted tooth behind. akin akin lang yun.. hehehe.. though i think i am wrong..

tingin ko kelangan alisin kasi unti unti nya itutulak yung mga ipin, resulting to magiging "sungki sungki" eventually ibang ipin mo. at pwede din mag lock jaw parang sa akin dati. mahal na ata ngayon ang operasyon nyan. i remember 1996 yung una, 5k ginastos ko, yung next 1998 15k na.

Have an oral maxilofacial surgeon treat you or kung kakilala naman iyong dentist (kakilalang competent) eh ok na. Problem kasi kapag sa dentist lang tapos di mo pa alam credentials nya ay pwedeng bumagsak or tumabingi ang panga mo.

I had mine removed all 4 of them 3 years ago. Ginastos ko 50k kasi I have hypertension. I can't go on with the operation by just using a dental chair. Kailangan mag undergo ako sa general anesthesia at sa hospital pa ito ginawa.

Have it fixed asap and remember to consult a competent oral maxilofacial surgeon kung hindi tatabingi ang panga mo. Sa akin they have to chisel pa part of the bones that hold my teeth (i guess that's the panga or jaw) para pumantay.

I have had a similar impacted tooth in my lower jaw. The impacted tooth and the molar next to it had a small gap where bits of food often gets stuck inside. Eventually it caused some decay (on both teeth) even with tooth care.

I had no choice but had the impacted tooth surgically removed and the other tooth repaired. But the tooth was too fragile and eventually started to shatter. Eventually I had it capped.

From my experience, it would be better to remove the lower impacted teeth when you have the time to spare to save you the experience and dental chair time I experienced.

I have only gone to one tooth extraction during my lifetime and it's because of an impacted wisdom tooth (lower jaw), from what I remember parang hinati to smaller parts yun tooth saka inalis. I can't really remember since few years back na yun.

Mine was the dentist cut/opened my jaw below the gum line to extract the impacted tooth as a whole. Then he later stitched up the cut.

Weird view as I was awake during the entire procedure and could see him sewing in and out of my mouth.

    now that would suck

anyway, i think i'll have the upper impacted tooth extracted first, kasi it causes pain na..

I have an impacted tooth also.. Who is your dentist? Dentist ko hindi nagpe-perform ng surgery.. Sabi niya punta pa daw ako ng Cebu.. Which dental clinics in Cagayan de Oro perform this surgery? I'd appreciate your help :-)

    have it removed if:
    1. causing pain and discomfort
    2. will be or undergoing orthodintic treatment
    3. if the impacted teeth is putting harm to the adjacent teeth

see an oral surgeon, all four can be done at the same time, the lower right posed a little difficulty in removal.
