    *TS, the best pa rin both diet and exercise!

    May nabasa ako na hindi magandang guide ang BMI. Mas maganda daw ang percent fat as indicator. Kasi meron mabigat talaga pero mabigat sila dahil sa muscles and not fat. Tapos meron naman sila tinatawag na skinny fat. Skinny pero mataas % fat nila, yun daw ang nakakatakot.

    As a sample si Batista.

    BMI = mass (lb) * 703 / (height in inches) ^ 2
    BMI = 300 lbs * 703 / (77) ^ 2 = 35.57 : 6'-5" = 77inches

    Obese Class II from 35 to 40

    Obese Class II si Batista kung ganun. Hehe

    Oatmeal diet for more than 3 weeks? Pa-check mo Blood Uric Acid level mo, sir. Baka way above normal na yan.
    This is so true! My lola's uric acid level shot up when she tried the oatmeal diet.

    *TS If you eat so little but still overweight, maybe you should go to an endocrinologist and have your thyroid checked as advised by doc ooba99. I think it's TSH, T3 and T4? A few years ago I gained a considerable amount of weight in just one month despite having the same diet. So I went to the doctor and they found out I had mild hypothyroidism. I took meds to have it normalised.

    i don't gets the oatmeal diet. Carbs yan eh. Fiber nga, pero carbs parin

    when you ingest carbs, it turns to glucose, goes into your bloodstream, triggers insulin secretion, insulin is the ANABOLIC hormone. so how can you lose weight?

    best weight loss diet is NO carbs. no carbs, no insulin spikes

    when you're not getting carbs, your body will turn to stored fat and use it for energy. then you'll lose weight

    Dapat,- if you're eating carbs,- generally go with complex carbohydrates, to minimize the sugar spikes....

    I can totally relate! I used to starve myself before and I got really thin. I barely had energy to do anything but I still went ahead and enrolled at the gym. I didn't last 2 months ata. Somehow kasi when you start losing weight nakaka addict. Payat nga depressed naman kasi parating gutom. Kaya tinigilan ko na ganun lifestyle. hehe.
    Sis,- you should have tried a modeling job to get your second wind....

    ito naman ang napansin ko, if you're fat na talaga simula bata ka and most of your teenage life, medyo mahirapan ka magpapayat, I mean kaya pero it will take a lot of efforts.

    but if you're ok during your younger years, adolescent and all. tumaba ka lang dahil naging busy at nawalan ng exercise, mas mabilis magpapayat, ibalik mo lang yuna ctive lifestyle and papayat ka kaagad.

    and totoo yun no carb diet. saka pangit yun mataba ka tapos biglang payat. magkakaroon ka ng loose skins, maganda gradual lang kahit matagal give your skin to adjust para walang loose skins.

    Yup. Mukhang tuyot pag mabilis masyado pag lose. Ideally 4 to 8 lbs a month lang with exercise.

    You may have gained weight after quitting the gym bec your caloric intake didn't decrease. I have friends who were jocks but after settling into sedentary lifestyles and holding desk jobs, the pounds started piling up, coz they still ate like they were athletes or bodybuilders in training. Some started looking like retired pro wrestlers.

    In contrast, those who enrolled in gyms or took up a sport or did more physical activities were able to control their bodyweight. But that's the experience of us working stiffs, who're way over the teen-age years.

    So as everyone suggests for a guy your age, start limiting the calories and the carbs, get more active and before you know it, you're a lean, mean machine, able to follow GH's advice. The chicks will start digging you for your body.

    Otherwise, better start a business and pile on the cash. So the chicks will dig you for your money. Then you'll be able to follow GH's advice, at ayun, papayat ka na.
