There’s a difference between complex carbs and simple carbs.

When you’re weight lifting, you need carbs for your strength.

And you need to know your macros and calorie expenditure per day.

i have not gone back to eating rice and bread. i get mostly my carbs sa kamote, yam, repolyo, cauliflower, broccoli.

i'm not much to heavy lifting, mostly body weights, tabata, walking. may pwersa pa naman. maintain lang ang timbang. i supplemented with protein isolate lately[emoji39]

yes, i'm monitoring my macros. i'm using the app Lose It as i cannot download yung myfitness pal where i am.

the company declared work from home for 2 weeks. i will do mostly home workout. there's a gym where i stay but i prefer not to go.

If you’re already in your 40s or 50s, I advise you do compound exercises.

You still can gain muscle mass provided your protein intake is high and a reasonable intake of complex carbs.

Supplements are just supplements, that is, to provide deficiencies in your macros, and you need to have off-cycle or rest periods in taking them to protect your vital organs, like the kidney or liver.

Tons of Ways to Die, One of Them is “By Not Moving”

Prolonged sitting is dangerous to your health. It encourages health problems to invade your body and you become overweight. Being heavy and obese not only affects how you look, but your health as well, since it is one of the causes of type 2 diabetes.

    Why You Should Start Moving

If you sit all day in front of the TV or computer, you are living a sedentary lifestyle and this will never give you good outcomes. Some of the health issues that could appear include:

•Your bones become less dense. Lack of mobility decrease bone density, which just means you have weaker bones. The amount of calcium in the bones eventually lessens and many diseases, such as osteoporosis, become the result.

•Your metabolism is affected. Since you don’t move enough, your muscles, including those in your legs, contribute to slow circulation. As a result, you burn fewer calories.

•Your blood sugar increases. Less movement causes the body to ignore most of the blood sugar in it. In this case, your risk of acquiring diabetes increases to seven percent.

•Heart disease risk increases. As with blood sugar, your risk for heart disease goes up as well. This is because the enzymes that monitor and control your blood fats become inactive.

•Sedentary lifestyle can cause depression. When you are physically active, many feel-good hormones are produced in the brain. The contrary happens when you sit all day.

So we need to move for us to live healthy and happy lives.

i've been thinking of this lately because i'm a fairly active person but this ecq has left me sedentary. i used to regularly play basketball and tennis but i haven't really sweated it out since march 8, my team's last scheduled basketball game in our alumni league. i do nightly pull ups (2 types) ,push-ups, and sit-ups but no real gym work as of late.

the good thing is since i haven't really worked much of an appetite due to the lack of physical activity, i've earnestly started fasting regularly w/ a modest measure of success. i've lost my tummy and several pounds w/ it (after plateauing for several months) but i think my cardiovascular condition has deteriorated. panigurado mas madali na ako mapagod ngayon.

Ah looks like we don't play in the same groups. Used to play in Smashville. When it closed, moved to Asuncion and occasionally Centro.
