The Filipinas lost 2 - nil vs the swiss misses yesterday. Questionable whistles in favor of the swiss side (biased ako eh hehe).

Next match would he another wringer. They're going up against the football ferns of new Zealand. God help the Ph

Madami pang kakaining bigas Ang debutantes. Binuhos Ng Norway Ang frustrations nila sa mga hapless neophytes. The norwegians finally showed why they were once crowned as the queens of the world cup...current Internal troubles be damned.

After a rousing coming out party for the Filipinas, I hope the Ph football federation (pff) can maintain the momentum they have helped create. I'm sure the awareness of football as a whole has been raised a thousandfold w/ the "herstory" campaign, but the challenge is how to sustain the enthusiasm for the sport.

The azkals were able to make football exciting a decade ago, but the ugly politicking side of the sport has dampened all the goodwill it was able to manufacture.

Let's hope the pff has learned it's lesson.

Hope so too. This current group is very young and could have a good decade of performance. Enough to find potential new recruits.

Like boxing, football is another game where height does not matter much unlike basketball. But I undertand that team sports are more expensive than individual games so we can't expect too mch support unless people really like the game and private sponsors help shoulder the bill.

    football.
strength and reach of the tall,
versus relative speed and agility of the short.

    in the end,
it's "who wants to win, more" .

size isn't the end all and be all in football naman...especially in the distaff side. look at japan for example - they won the women's world cup back in 2011 when they trashed team usa for the championship. then they reached the finals 5 years later but lost to the americans in a revenge play. they just actually demolished spain kanina lang.

it's really the continuity and the system put in place that sets a country's football program apart ( i think that's for all sports governing bodies naman). unfortunately, that takes tons of shetloads of money. kung hindi pa pumasok sa eksena iyong white knight na si jeff cheng sa Filipinas, walang mangyayari sa programa natin. he helped finance the whole football expedition of the team. w/o him there would be no coach alen stajic and co, there would be no hardware in the afc, and there would definitely no world cup appearance.
