Was stoked watching the teams select their rookies today.

For my Celtics, I'd grade them a B+ for selecting Marcus Smart (PG) and James Young (SF).

In Smart, I see shades of Tyreke Evans, while Young appears to me like a younger, more athletic Richard Hamilton who had a solid career with Detroit.

Mejo naiyak ako nung nidraft ng NBA si Isiah Austin. Its heartbreaking to know that he will never have a professional basketball career because of his very rare illness. Kudos to the NBA for giving him the privilege to be drafted.

Yup, a class act by Adam Silver. Marfans Syndrome is no joke as it can lead to an enlarged aorta or aortic aneurysm. Jeff Green had it, and so did Ronny Turiaf. Once the aorta bursts, it's instant death.

^^^Which reminds me of the late Celtic great Reggie Lewis who died of a heart ailment, if he and Len Bias did not die so young and early, they could have given Michael Jordan and the Bulls a run for their money in the 90's.

marcus smart and rondo running fastbreaks would be fun to watch. james young won't see alot of minutes.

nothing to be excited about OKC's picks.

^just checked, both green and turiaf were tested negative for marfan's. yung condition nila pwede i-correct via open heart surgery, kaya nakabalik sa liga.

yung marfan's mukhang delikado talaga. fatal kahit constantly monitored and treated.

OT: Buti na trade si jeff green sa boston at na check-up ng masinsinan. OKC doctors denied that they knew his condition, the league took away their draft picks that year anyway

Jeff Green and Ronny Turiaf both had aortic aneurysm. Not Marfans Syndrome. My mistake.

Both were lucky enough to get their playing careers back.

BTT, does anybody think Joel Embiid will be a bust like Greg Oden?

Too early to tell yung kay embiid. Hindi din kasi siya sobrang malaki katawan, baka magheal naman. Kawawa nga si Bynum at Oden, malalaki sana kaso mahina buto. Makes me appreciate Shaq more.

Ya, not saying he's not a skilled player. But, he has the same injury which ended the careers of players like Yao Ming and Bill Walton. Both were legit All-NBA level centers.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery. The 76ers could use a revival of their franchise after the Allen Iverson era ended.

    Hoping this will push through

OKC shopping should start with Carter « NBA.com | Hang Time Blog with Sekou Smith

HANG TIME SOUTHWEST – As the free agency clock ticks down, the spotlight is shining brightest on Miami’s Big Three, on Carmelo Anthony‘s decision and on the Lakers’ wishful pursuit of a superstar (or two).

And then there’s that little ole team on the Oklahoma prairie that no one’s talking about. The one with the league MVP, the All-Star point guard and the game’s fiercest shot blocker. The one that’s played in three Western Conference finals in the last four years and if not for key injuries in these last two postseasons might have built upon its lone NBA Finals appearance in 2012.

The one that’s missing one final piece.

Oklahoma City Thunder enter free agency, not as big spenders and not needing much, but with a silver bullet in-hand (the full mid-level exception worth $5.3 million) and a specific target: A hired gun.

Signing a veteran knock-down 3-point shooter is crucial for this franchise on the doorstep. A Big Three of sorts that specializes in the long ball is set to hit the open market at the stroke of midnight: Vince Carter, Mike Miller and Mo Williams.

Embiid has a full year to recover. He's young, still room to strengthen his core. Hope he doesn't take the Oden route.

How about Nerlens Noel? Pareho sila ng nangyari ni Embiid. Injured in their rookie season.

Mukhang good to go na, lalaro daw sa Orlando and Vegas summer leagues. Just like Embiid, question mark din durability.
