before the japanese time, pasay was the suburbs where expats resided, and makati was undeveloped grassland. as late as the before-1970s, that site of makati cinema square was horse grassland.
and today's ayala ave and paseo de roxas, were the nielson airport runways of yesterdecades'.
also, ayala triangle sported a baseball field.

but when it became fashionable, the capable ones moved to makati, converting it to what it was, in the 60s and 70s, and later, to today's, c/o big developers.
back in the day, ayala was atrracting big building development in their area, via attractive deals.
