August 1st, 2013 02:18 PM #994Hello Tsikoteers,
Any chances that we might get the diesel version of the CX5 (SkyActiv D), it's August na kasi and the 2014s will be arriving soon. Baka kasi, I'll regret buying the petrol and then next month or so darating yung diesel version.....

Not until Euro IV diesel is widely available.
We drive the diesel-powered Mazda 6 with 420Nm of torque - Car News
Unfortunately, it's highly doubtful we'll ever see the diesel 6 sold here. According to Mazda, the clean diesel Skyactiv-D won’t accept diesel fuel that has a sulfur content of 500 parts per million, which is what’s widely available in the Philippines. If ever the diesel 6 is sold here, refueling it is strictly limited to Unioil's Euro IV diesel fuel, which has a 50ppm sulfur content.

But Unioil diesel is already at Euro 4. It is not far for us to have the Mazda CX-5 diesel variant available here.

And how many Unioil stations are there in Metro Manila aber? If a giant like Petron only has Euro IV (gas pa) in a select few stations in the Metro then I don't think it meets the "widely available" requirement.

A 70/30 water to coolant mix may improve cooling efficiency but that's at the cost of less...
Coolant...
