February 27th, 2008 12:35 AM #541Hi, I'm getting a black Mazda 3 1.6V the next week or two. What accessories/kits do you have for it? Offhand, I'm looking at the following:
1. Lip Spoiler like the 2.0L version; how much?
2. If I convert my headlights to HID (er, is that the same or not with the projector headlamps you mentioned), how much is it sa yo? What about addressing the possible bad effects of the HID headlights to the actual headlight cover (fogging, blurring, etc) And what brand do you use?
3. If you convert my tail lamps to LED, how much yon? Is it only the RED /brake lamp part like the 2.0L?
4. What else you got? Grill?
5. Is it overkill to apply medium panther 3M all around the 3, making it look really black? (well, I'm also thinking about super black or CS Panther 5?) That's the free tint I'm getting; leaning towards 3M even if it isn't magic (they only have Platinum with the magic).
Thanks!

========================
Sorry, that quote was for Mr. LA and, well, those who have opinions naman.
Mr. LA,
Hello, if I'm using your logic sa other member with a similar nighthawk black Civic, and I'm getting an infinity black Mazda 3, would it be good to use medium black (CS Panther 20) all around rather than the darker black (think it was Panther 5) sa side and rear, and medium sa harap? I agree with you on not using Magic anymore, because it's not as nice (or uso) as it was 9 or so years ago when I got a Vtec Civic (same body as SiR).
Haven't driven a black tinted car since I sold my Civic 4 years ago (it was originally 3M magic neutral all around then I added sungard super black sa side and rear to, ahem, facilitate privacy inside). Right now, I'm driving a Pajero with super dark tint (sorry this was a local job only since it's not my car anyway) and a 08 Vios with 3M medium black; both are visor front only. My Civic was the one with the full front tint. Kaya ko naman siguro since I've had my eyes lasered 2 years ago. hehehe.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this because this is a company issued car, and I've got gas din naman. So on the premise that 1. they'd do a half decent job, and 2. whatever errors they make will just bite them in the ass coz I'll simply have them replace the tint, what comments do you have dun sa all around medium (CS panther 20)? Or Black CS panther 5 na lang except for the front na medium?
Thanks, pare!

Sir, I suggest to go for the CS panther 20 if youre not used to the super black at night. The CS panther 20 all around will appear to look like super black at night but will give you better visibility from the inside.
Medium black tints go well with any color. It's a safe bet.

February 29th, 2008 12:04 PM #546I do agree that 3M is a good brand, but when it comes to UV protection I'd recommend that you give SOLAR GUARD a try. Solar Guard is made by the GE company (if Im not mistaken) and it uses sputtered metal to deflect the heat and UV of the sun. It is also the sister company of V-Cool which is best when it comes to heat dissipation. SUN GUARD is made by NELTEX Ive tried it before its useless, I've also tried MIRAREED try parking your car in direct sunlight, open the door and get in you will feel like the devil is sitting beside you. So far after all the recommendations and experiences with window films I find either 3M or Solar Guard still the best 3M is durable and has a reputation but SOLAR GUARD is the best when it comes to the heat dissipation:price ratio V-COOL is too expensive for me and besides most of their window films are clear and i dont like to be seen when Im picking my nose cheers!

Thanks, Mr. LA. Hey, i posted some more queries sa yo a page or two ago. Aside from my tint question, I also asked about other accessories. Hope you can give me your inputs (please check, Mr. LA).
But what about the medium black's appearance during the daytime naman? Di ganon ka black ang dating pero pwede naman?
I'll go with your recommended CS panther 20, pare.
Now, my first projects after I get my M3 are as follows:
1. get a damn good OEM lip spoiler ala 2.0L
2. If affordable and it won't ruin my headlight cover/lid, change my lights to HID para astig white light sa gabi. I'm avoiding those feedback from M3 owners that their headlights became "smoked" or malabo when they shifted to HID or HID appearance (baka high heat emission)
Thanks!

Hi, ako, nagpapagawa ako sa Banawe, sa Autoflex (think they use Sunguard, or Solar Guard), though matagal na ako nagpapagawa doon sa kabila ng Quezon Ave, also sa Banawe, at this place that is also the authorized service center ng Pioneer radio (sorry forgot their name now, pero they deal in 3M). 2 blocks from Q Ave (heading towards Retiro), sa right side sila (may two slots sila).
Pero these guys who have been posting messages on this topic seem to know much more about tints that myself, so read the threads na lang.
Good luck!
