The Indian made Figo (facelifted old Fiesta with small engines) is supposed to be an entry level model that will slot below the all-new ASEAN Ford Fiesta when exported.
Info for the ASEAN Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2 I posted in the Fiesta thread...
Mazda Sales Thailand will launch the budget Mazda 2 in the fourth quarter and Ford Thailand to launch the Fiesta in the first quarter next year.
Translated in English...
"Fiesta will be launched simultaneously in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand,"
I compiled some online photos from Thailand...

I would definitely love to have the Fiesta here instead of the Figo.
Unfortunately, positioning the Fiesta in between the Focus and the Figo will be tricky.
If the mid-range Fiesta would be brought in today, it would probably cost around P760,000 which is touching Focus territory. A lower trim level could potentially bring the price down to P670,000. If they can keep the Figo below P600,000 as a Picanto/i10 fighter, then bringing in the Fiesta would definitely make sense as we desperately need something to break the Jazz/City and Vios/Yaris duopoly.
Of course, the Fiesta would also crush sales of the Aveo and the Rio.

The Fiesta will be sold here early next year.
The Figo has not yet been confirmed for the Philippine market, but it could arrive here to slot below the Fiesta since its also expected to be sold in this region.
Export of the Figo will begin in late 2010.
The Figo will most likely target cars like the Getz and the smaller i10, Celerio and Picanto.
The Figo is expected to have two engines, a 1.2 liter gasoline engine and a diesel engine not bigger than 1.5 liters (they'll most likely use the existing 1.4 TDCi diesel engine).
Expect the Figo to be priced low since it will be made in India (just like the i10 and Celerio).
