    Hey Guys,

based on the many threads that I read (local and US) it's a hit or miss thing. even if you don't use it, even if you play it with a fan or A/C on if it's going to hit it's going to hit.

Poor quality control. If you do get it, be sure you have a friend or relative living in the US that you can send the machine to. And it should not be modded. Microsoft will repair it free of charge.

3RL means 3 Red Lights on the front panel of the console. It's when the 360 had ran its diagnostics and displayed the Red Ring of Death - that means general hardware failure. If that happens, say bye-bye to your 360.

The first-gen 360's were rushed into production. Consequently, some retailers have reported failures in 1 out 3 Xbox 360's sold. It's alleged that the batch was manufactured using the wrong type of solder, which is too brittle. With a high-level of operating temperature, the 360's mainboard has a tendency to easily flex, which may result in microscopic cracks.

yep, nothing can prevent the infamous xbox 3rl.. i've recently read about a guy having to send his system for repair/replacement 3 times (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/13/te...a53&ei=5087%0A).

wala, maski tapatan mo ng aircon yan o isang matinding fan wala. it's a hit or miss thing.

you may want to visit www.pinoyxbox.com may 2 gurus dun na pag nasira ang xbox mo imomodify nila. it has something to do with the x clamps daw. pinapalitan ata nila iyon or basta may ginagawa silang modifications para hindi mag warp iyong board mo.

You worry too much. Mag-enjoy ka na lang sa paglaro.

We've had our 360 for a year (I think), and between me and my sons, we use it for what it's worth without giving a rat's ass on the 3RL. During school breaks, it's almost in use 24hrs a day. We actually have a small box of rechargeable AA's (for the controllers) on standby.

I have an xbox 360 for 1 year already. so far no 3RL or ring of death (crossed fingers). I've updated the firmware 2007 spring update. Now it can play HD Movies (MP4)! Looks great on a LCD TV with High Def Movies.

Mapapayo ko men? Use an AVR and make it sure that it's a servo based 1000 watts AVR!!! So ayun pinaayos ko, cinonvert to 220V after 1.5 years eto nakalimutan kong i-AVR at kablam!

How can you update your firmware sir?

btw, Our XBOX 360 displayed three red lights... I reset the console and the 3RL disappeared. Is this a sign of our XBOX's death or just an error?

    Thanks!

First, Download a HD MP4 movie for xbox360, ps3 or apple tv. Just google it. many ******* sites will be displayed.
Second, Pop in your MP4 movie on the Xbox 360 DVD tray. Go to media, try to play the content, The Xbox will prompt you to download the necessary codecs from Windows Live. You'll need Windows Live ID for the update.
After installing the update. You can play HD movies.
    Enjoy!!!

    *drey

if your 360 is using a 90nm CPU & GPU mas mataas ang chances na mag 3RL ang 360 mo. afaik heat ang primary reason ng 3RL error, meron kasing design flaw yung old mobo ng 360. but i know some peeps na launch date ang 360's nila, pero till now ok pa din. swertihan na lang siguro yan, just cross your fingers that your 360 wont conk out on you.

LOL demet kakainis!

sabi ng iba, if your 360 is built/assembled after a certain manufacturing date, mas less ang risk na mag 3RL ang 360 mo. sometimes kasi faulty ang ibang launch consoles, so dyan naman pumapasok ang revisions to the hardware itself.
