format, re-install a better captain Jack Sparrow'ed version.

I suggest speedy vista v4. 700mb lang installer, it is fast, stripped yet still has the most important features, including Aero theme.

I still prefer XP over Vista. Better driver support for all hardware and requires less system resource as well.

+1,000,000! Vista is such a disappointment! I actually had our IT guys remove Vista from my laptop and install XP.

And yet with all your computer's hardware specifications, it will still be handicapped because of limited hardware support under Vista.

Same here. Pero di ba pwede itawag yung activation key ng vista sa microsoft. Like xp, after os installation you are prompted to either activate it by internet or voice call.

Ang bagal nga sobra. I was able to crack it pero grabe ang sarap itapon ng laptop ko sa sobrang bagal.

Anyway, I'm currently downloading speedyvista, ano to reformat na naman? Or pwede i-overwrite ung current vista

sir GH, yun mas bago sa vista, astig ang bilis saka ok ang driver support, yung windows 7 kaso beta pa lang...parang ganito naging trend ng windows e...
winME (sablay) > XP (success) > vista (sablay) > se7en (soon to find out)...pero ngayon beta testing ako ng windows se7en, i`d say pinaka ok sa windows systems so far...

Yup. The laptop would probably run 50% faster if it was using XP. Why do you think new computers these days are offered with Vista built-in with an option of downgrading to XP? Vista is a failed product to deliver on its claims, too much bloat-were which ends up eating too much resources and ends up slowing down every computer except those running with the fastest PC hardware around.

I might be showing my age...

    From my point of view:
    Windows 1.0 - failed
    Windows 3.0/3.1/3.11 - successful
    Windows NT4.0 - successful
    Windows 95 - failed
    Windows 98/98se - successful
    Windows 2000 - failed
    Windows ME - failed
    Windows XP - successful
    Windows Vista - failed
Windows 7 - yet to be determined

Why force your PC with Vista? You can get the same eyecandy experience with XP and 3d party software without the lag.

True but often with the linux alternative, there are short comings like certain Windows applications or games not being available or not runs well under linux. Even with title alternatives for the same function, sometimes you just really need that particular title and substitutes would not be good enough.
