i tried all 3 (borrowed from friends) from feb to march.
ended up getting sun postpaid. i think there shouldn't be too much of a difference between post and prepaid.
ortigas and fort area sun is giving me a pretty consistent signal, in fact when i get to higher floors minsan siya lang ang may signal.
con: terrible for *******s.
well, with pre-paid, the length of time before the "load" expires is important. With some providers, the load expires within 3 days. Others have a load amount that will last 60 days.
Given I don't plan to use this everyday, having a longer expiry is a definite advantage. For my "normal" access, I have the DSL connection at the office and at my home.
Similar experience when I used the SUN 3.5G broadband at Boni High Street. I was at Stabucks in Fully Booked and my connection was stable for the two hours I was there.ortigas and fort area sun is giving me a pretty consistent signal, in fact when i get to higher floors minsan siya lang ang may signal.
I have read about that in PhilMUG forum thread regarding 3G/3.5G wireless broadband providers.con: terrible for *******s.
Dito sa amin walang kwenta ang Globe wireless. Very intermittent ang conn and incosistent din ang speed. Ewan ko lang diyan sa inyong area.
I am currently using my postpaid Globe account to connect to the web. The office internet is down.
My netbook is connected via bluetooth to my Nokia 3G phone. Not that fast because my fone is 3G... not 3.5G... otherwise, its going well.
P5/15mins rate ...
At home i'm using my Nokia to act as a modem for my PC. Globe prepaid sim card configured to time browsing,PhP 5.00/15 mins. Speed is 460.8 kbps. Outside home, siempre sa cphone n lng ako nag internet libre nman kase eh kahit walang load. Right now cphone gamit ko in posting this message.
Yap!, kahit walang load puede ka magbrowse sa internet ng cp mo.
With regards to question #2, ano line mo, globe ka ba?

libre ang browsing ng net through globe kahit walang load? i smell something fishy in here...
i use smart bro, yung unang labas when i'm at home located at bulacan. before it sucks, but now, ok na and i can use it while inside my room. on *******s, ok naman sa kin eh. depende nalang yan sa number of seeds but its ok naman, 1.5mbps that can reach up to 1.8mbps. downside, magastos
I'm currently testing the Bayantel wireless. Overall, speed is great (they've got guaranteed speed) downside is their coverage. they have pretty decent coverage in the metro but outside the metro is another matter.
Got a demo unit from Wi-Tribe 4G.
My observation.
1. Speedtest is 1MBPS
2. Youtube, and other streming media sites - Excellent buffering, no chappy video and audio.
3. Signal Strength - Excellent (Full bar -considering I'm on the outskirts of M. Manila)
4. Does not share bandwidth with Voice not like other providers/competitors and the speed is almost constant.
5. Downside - maximum of 3GB downloads/month on 1MBPS and will down shift to 512MBPS on the succeeding connections.
6. One month deposit for the kit (modem and power supply), 24 months holding period.
7. Modem can be hook to router for sharing.
Parang same modem family sila ng Globe Wi Max.
Okay na rin sana, kaya lang I'm tied up with Sun Broadband postpaid right now.
