what's a good anti-virus (free)?

Sir, totoo po ba yan? Ang alam ko po kasi eh titigil na talaga ung support nila for the free and pro version of 7.1. Pero magcocontinue ito for their version 7.5. Which I'm using right now as free.

yup mayroon ng avg free 7.5 kaya tigil na ang updates for the free 7.1 version. yun sa kin baligtad din.. avg detected something that got past norton. anyhoo, tingin ko pag ganun, some spyware crap lang.. hopefully nothing to detrimental that would render the system unusable...

still using avg free 7.1 one, will download 7.5 before the year ends. hehe. tamad talaga..

IMHO, pwede namang dalawang AV naka-install in one rig provided na isa lang ung nagloload sa startup. Ung isa pa pang secondary lang talaga. Ung tipong maglalaunch lang pag inopen mo talaga.

Sa akin din, may mga na-detect ang AVG na hindi na-detect ng Norton Antivirus. Maganda rin yung kasamang Antivirus ng ZoneLabs yung nga lang hindi siya free.

I'm using AVG for my desktop, and Avast for my laptop.

I noticed that Avast is not as "obtrusive" as AVG, no splash
screens interrupting your surfing when updating. With Avast,
there's just a pleasant voice in the background informing you
that the latest updates have been done.

As far as detecting and neutralizing viruses, well, thats another
matter. AVG has been able to detect and neutralize several
viruses in my desktop, but my laptop is still clean (thank heavens!)
up to now, so its hard to compare.

I do most of my heavy surfing withe the desktop so yun ang
palaging tinatamaan. OK lang kasi medyo luma na (Win 98SE pa).
Yung laptop medyo bago pa (Win XP Pro SP2) kaya nanghihinayang
akong isabak sa **** sites!
