Obviously, TDM is just the tip of the iceberg....

That is essentially all the "colors" of the spectrum (not just as we see it), being the information highway....

    That is sooooo sweeeeeeet.......

Yes,- there has to be a jump in technology for batteries.....

Compared to the current applications, battery technology is still in the middle ages...

    OT:

Miniature flux capacitance, for starters- anyone?

Or, a self contained matter-antimatter dilithium-regulated power source?

At 16 Tb/s in a single fibre. Homes would then be running like the bandwidth of current submarine cables. We could not just actually hear and see the person on the other line but touch.. Everything in just one penny sized projector.

Until they are manufacturing graphene nased batteries, it will be only available in test labs. In short --> vapourware.

Graphene is another form of carbon atoms. Like diamond, bucky-balls, carbon nano-tubes, etc. The only difference with graphene is that the carbon atoms are now arranged in a hexagonal (six sided) patterned flat-sheet. In theory, you can produce a sheet of graphene that is only one carbon atom thick that is transparent like glass and conducts heat & electricity very well. And given it is as strong as diamond, applications of this material can be quite wide.

The current problem with using graphene in volume is it is very expensive to make and it can only be produced in very tiny quantities.

Hence, any talk of using graphene batteries is equal to vaporware.

The fluorescent tube light and CFL (compact fluorescent light bulb) will be obsolete in the next ten years and will be replaced by cheaper and more efficient LED lighting systems.

    Hahaha!

And the LED back then was being used only as a signal diode in our protoboards..... And then later, as seven-segment display.
(if you reversed the polarity,- you are bound to get a toink from one of your groupmates for busting the component *and missing the deadline* for the project)...

Indeed, LED technology has gone a long long way......

Plasma TVs are back because of their inherent "better performance" compared to LCD TVs, especially for the big screens. And more importantly, they were able to mitigate the issue on screen burn(-in)...

I research mo lang,- kaya mo naman iyan....
