    Agree. A good diver's watch is very versatile. Which is why I think a Sub is very iconic.

    Personally though, chronos are my favorite. I'm a fan of the subdials.

    What I like about Orient is that all watch enthusiasts know about it, while almost noone outside watch circles even recognizes it.

    If you have to explain what an Orient is, you probably aren't talking to a real watch fan.

    i used to chrono, too. i suppose, most young 'uns do.
    until my eyesight made it difficult for me to appreciate the subdials' pointers.

    Totally different movement you’re comparing there. Kinetic uses arm movement to charge its Internal batteries. EcoDrive uses light to charge its batteries.

    Seiko has its own line of Prospex Solar watches that uses solar energy.

    Nice Mako II you got there, bro! I have always liked better the blue dial color of Orient over Seiko. I’m fighting the itch to buy a Ray II as the Orient I long to have is the Polaris GMT or Starseeker GMT.
