    re the timex billboard

i think Timex is telling people to buy a watch para no need to look at phone to know the time

i don't think the billboard is saying "replace your smartwatch with a timex"

    that's my interpretation lang po

When you are buying a watch from Rolex outlet and your wife doesn't agree just tell her you are donating to charity hehe

    well, it IS true!
bilibid or not, Rolex is a Charity Corporation!
    google it, folks!

last time i visited washington watches, they had only a very few items on sale behind the glass displays.
"is this all you have for sale?"
    "yes, sir."
    sigh.
so i went to grand seiko, and got one of theirs, instead.
    and i love it!

My wife won a Xiaomi smart band 7 (not my picture). Ok naman sya it has it uses. The battery last for one week.

The best feature I find useful is notification of messages and calls, I don't have to pull out my phone to read the message, and because the watch vibrates I don't miss the messages and calls.

Pero I still want to wear my analog watches. I didn't buy them just to be kept in the drawer. So I was thinking I'll wear the smart watch on the right and analog watch on the left. Di naman siguro ako mukhang tanga na dalawa relos? Pag off naman screen nya eh mukha lang sya black band bracelet. images-20-2-.jpg

No, it will just notify me that there's a call and who is calling. I can reject the call from the watch. But I have to pull out my phone to answer it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 on my right and a mechanical watch on the left. The fit 2 is just about the same size as the mi band 7. Initially had the same issue if it will look weird. Checked on some watch forums and matagal na pala itong question. Ok naman daw kung fitness band on one wrist then mechanical watch on the other. Took a few days getting used to it. Now normal na.

it does look funny to me, having a "watch", one on each wrist.
but hey! so does my cellphone belt carrier. and i'm not about to give it up.
    bottomline, "whatever works, folks".

Reminds me of my cousin in the 90s who has a brick cellphone, a beeper and a CB radio, all hanging on his belt, right next to each other, while his polo is tucked in.

    many years ago,
back when dual sim was still a dream,
a number of my colleagues were armed with two cellphones at the same time.
apparently, it was common, as dual phone carrying cases were commercially available in stores.

I broke my daughter's Omega watch trying to replace the battery [emoji24]

I already managed to replace it twice, but everytime I forgot how to do it and would just watch the video in YouTube. This time I couldn't find that video anymore and I tried to force it pop out and the gold strap holding it snapped!

Worse is while I was trying to figure out how to put it back, it flew and I can't find it anymore.

Anyone here know if this is still fixable by a watch repair shop? Not by Omega ha, that's very expensive.

Try bringing it to Mang Andy at Makati Cinema Square. He's the go to guy for Swiss watches. Most likely it's his son who's there now since Mang Andy stays at home near Mayon most of the time. His shop is still there though.

Thanks, tagal na nitong si Mang Andy of MCS ah, I read about him at a watch forum I searched when this same watch stopped when I had the battery changed, na damage siguro nung matanda. But because malayo ako sa MCS, I found a repair shop at Festival Alabang who replaced the mechanism for 6.5k. But the guy who fixed this is no longer there as they claim he's already too old and has shaky hands.

It may be worth the trip to MCS if only to eat at Aida's after having the watch repaired. Or if you wanna go all the way to Mayon to Mang Andy's home, malapit na ang Jonas for the original pares
