perhaps the gold dial is more... desirable, as the seiko moonwatch was gold.

Haha! Not a BMBY. The guy who sold it to me gave me an idea of its significance. Needless to say I got smitten....

...why do they call it "perpetual calendar", when one has to adjust it from time to time?

You don’t need to change the dates for a certain period of time (period defined by manufacturer). There is also an annual calendar where the watch is set once a year.

    looking at the watch above...
how does it know what month or what year, it is?
is it in its program, even if it's nowhere on the dial?

It is best to check the manufacturer’s instructions on how it functions.

i have some nice phrases, myself, that i keep in my little box, waiting for an appropriate time to use it.
was yours a moment of inspiration, or have you been holding on to that one for some time, sir?

Haha! No, I always thought the guy who coined that term was being sarcastic. Either it’s complicated to manufacture or a complication to the user. Either or, the term is appropriate.

Iyong skx 007 & 009 ginagawa talagang platform ng mga mahilig mag modify.

Dito sa atin madami na din nahihilig mag mod pero iyon iyong mga para sa malalakas lang ang loob. [emoji23]

Pero there are others who envision a mod of their own liking, buy the needed parts, and let their trusted watchmaker weave their magic

For those with many automatic watches, do you have watch winders? Or you just let/left them unwound for extended period(s) of time? Or you ask your househelps to wear them at least an hour everyday?

Isn't it annoying to adjust the date and day every now and then, even for the love of mechanical excellence?

Finding it a challenge when traveling or going on vacation... Cannot bring them all with me....😎😂😲
