if you want the best water filter or treatment process, the reverse osmosis system with UV sterilizer is highly recommended. there are some wee units that fit for home use and not as expensive as what you think. filtration required, depends on the water quality from the source (hardness, TDS, etc, well or city water).

if you want 200% sure safe, a reverse osmosis with carbon block filter with UV does double duty. the reverse osmosis process already eliminates ALL viruses and microbes (bacteria, molds and algae), and carbon block filter with UV also eliminate all viruses and microbes. meron nyan sa wilcon builders sa edsa (the big store before shell station near balintawak, right side if going to nlex). it is a small unit, will fit on one side of the kitchen sink. but be advised that a reverse osmosis machine uses 5 micron pre-filters and with MWSS water being silty you can end up changing pre-filters every 4 months.

the reverse osmosis system costs around 12k yata dun sa wilcon. di pa kasama yung carbon block saka UV.

if you want tipid, carbon block filter with UV will already make 100% safe water for home use. carbon block klls all microbes and most viruses and UV will kill all viruses and most bacteria. together they cover everything. set up is usually carbon block filter first then UV. i have this at home, cost 1.8k for the carbon block and 2.4k for the UV, also at wilcon builders depot.

well afaik carbon doesn't kill bacteria, in fact it may even breed bacteria so I put in a ceramic filter before it to screen out most bacteria before they get to the carbon.

oh btw some say that having too clean water isn't good for you. won't build antibodies heheheheh

How the Unilever water purification system available in local malls?
They have two systems. Yung manual na lalagyan mo ng tubig sa ibabaw (5k) at yung nakakabit sa gripo (12K).
Plano ko yung tig-6K lang. Estimate ko 1 year b mababawi ang puhunan.

nakita ko din yan at may website sila. looks promising but i think it is just a rebrand of a home shopping product, na nakikita sa mall namimigay ng stuff for free then ask you if you have a credit card. That's why i didn't push thru with the purchase and just stick to our reliable RO system na nilalagay sa ilalim ng sink na may tank.

Yun nilalagyan ng tubig sa ibabaw I think kulang. its just me ah...

Try mo isearch Torayvino which is no. 1 in Japan (having trouble inserting the pic). Eto binili namin as alternative to Unilever. Easy installation pa. We stopped buying from water refilling station ever since.

Initial unit cost is around P1,9++ ‘ata and you need to replace the filtration unit after 1500 liters of use or when the water output becomes week (estimate namin for a household of 5 is between 5-6 months iyong replacement ng filter).

Replacement filter will cost you around P1,350 if I’m not mistaken.

Bought it in True Value. Hope this helps.

i have a water station, techically the water from the maynilad is clean...i drank from their delivery tanks before with no problem, its the pipes that goes from the plant to our homes ang problem..if im going to set one for my house, i just need 5 filter housing..one for 20micon filter, 1pc cto filter, 1pc 5micron filter and 2pcs 1micron filter and a UV light water sterilizer...if medyo OC kayo....after palang ng maynilad water meter...lagay din kayo ng addition water filter housing.....yung pinagamitan nyo na lumang cto, you can put it there, para lasang coconut pati pang ligo nyo...

I heard good things about Torayvino too. Does anyone know if they offer an under the counter option?

Any other suggestions for a good water purification system?
