is there something i could use to clean the rubber strap of my wife's watch? white (transparent) kasi yung strap, and medyo naninilaw na siya ngayon. i've been trying to brush it with soap and water to maintain its color, pero talagang naninilaw siya. meron bang parang bleach to make it white again? thanks

Di ko lang sure kung OK lang ba ito or hindi, pero experiment ka using Meg's APC. Medyo naadik ako gamitin ito nung first time kong subukan last saturday. Sinubukan ko din gamitin sa kitchen sink! Lahat ata nalilinis na nito eh. Hehe.

ilang taon na ba yung relo?

AFAIK eh talagang nagde-deteriorate ang mga rubber and plastics over the years...bukod sa pagbabago ng kulay eh lumulutong pa yan, kaya ang safest bet na piliin eh yung darker colours para di halata ang paninilaw.....malamang eh bili ka na lang ng bagong strap nyan.....mas matagal daw mag-deteriorate yung mga silicon watch strap kesa sa rubber....

the watch is about one year old pa lang. and replacement straps are kinda expensive, kaya tiyaga muna sa DIY baka sakaling may mas murang alternative than buying a new strap.

saan ba nakaka bili ng megs APC...i haven't seen one those yet sa true value. pwede kaya yung diluted baking soda in water? at least walang harmful chemicals that can destroy the rubber.

Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner. Meron po nito sa TV, kaya lang they are selling it by the gallons. Actually, detailing product po talaga ito.

if the strap gets exposed to the sun on a regular basis, it might be the strap itself changing color (turning yellow).

well, di naman siya exposed to the sun...actually di nga rin siya ganun ka dalas gamitin since may leather strap din siyang kasama. siguro nga yung material na talaga ng strap yung nagbabago ng color at hindi na dirt. sana lang may parang bleach na pwedeng gamitin.

You really have to replace the strap because the rubber/silicon material of the strap has undergone normal aging (hence the yellowed color).
