Pinoy lawmaker files reso honoring Steve Jobs

MANILA, Philippines - Paranaque Rep. Roilo Golez has filed House Resolution 1795 honoring Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

Golez said he is "an Apple man and a Steve Jobs admirer since Macintosh in 1984 when he was one of the first few Filipinos who made a leap of faith and bought a Macintosh when most looked at it with
    skepticism."

He described Jobs as the Thomas Edison of our time who "changed and transformed life and made it so easy for people of all ages to adjust to the digital world."

^ post na lang siya sa email ng Apple ng mahabang litanya niya. Pero IMHO, sa 90% ng Pinoy, sino ba si Steve Jobs para pag-aksayahan ng pera ng Pinas. Pa-pogi lang yan, as some posted here, KSP!

magtawag na lang si golez ng media....channels 2 & 7, mag-emote siya on national TV w/ matching tears.

He will also get his share of accolades. Probably not as much. But still substantial.

His Bill and Melinda Foundation has done much work in health and education in poor countries.

He has promised to give away 90% of his wealth or about P2,000,000,000,000.00 in todays valuation.

And he was able to convince Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerburg and 30 other billionaires to give away half their assets..

All in all, his foundation will raise about $600B for charitable causes.

Gates will be the most generous person in the History of the World.

ito naman ang charity ni jobs:

Mr. Jobs’s emphasis on secrecy, say acquaintances, led him to shy away from large public donations. At one point, Mr. Jobs was asked by the Microsoft founder Bill Gates to give a majority of his wealth to philanthropy alongside a number of prominent executives like Mr. Gates and Warren E. Buffett. But Mr. Jobs declined, according to a person with direct knowledge of Mr. Jobs’s decision. (source: With Time Running Short, Jobs Managed His Farewells - Yahoo! Finance)
