The things I like about our Daikins: quiet (both indoor and outdoor units), have a lot of fan speed levels and are energy efficient.
Our Panasonic with the same 3 hp rating has quite a bit more noise. The fan is also quite strong at even the lowest setting.

May 15th, 2021 06:19 PM #1373Found this sa FB. Dito sa shop na ito ako bumili ng dalawang Daikin 1hp namin. I think ito ang lowest price even among Daikin distributors. Message mo na lang sa FB.

May 15th, 2021 06:30 PM #1374Underrated lang dito ang Daikin but it's actually one of the more popular brands in Japan. Cheaper pa. I don't understand why appliance stores do not have Daikin on display. Even other Japanese brands kailangan hanapin mo pa talaga unlike Korean na front and center sa showroom.

Splits, prefer them served by authorized providers who handle the installs themselves(not passed on to some service contractor)....plus the warranty. Partial to those who've proven to be prompt, careful, reliable...& those who heed our install specs/procedure to a T.
A pre-purchase tip...discuss about the install, oversizing drainage, minimizing weld joints & OCD/overspec'ing line insulation. The lil added cost to what they offer free will be worthy.

May 15th, 2021 07:37 PM #1377Totally agree with oversized drainage!
Our 3 tonner had leaks and we found out that the house contractor placed PPR that’s too small! They were insisting that they be the ones to install the drainage with PPR inside the ceiling so that ordinary pvc pipes wont leak. Yun pala sila ang palpak.

Thanks Sir Travs, I do remember your reminders about the bigger drain pipe, now I know I also need to over spec the line insulation. About the minimum weld, I'll see to that when I get there [emoji108][emoji177]

Anyway, I just came to my senses that this was an impulse idea. To spend 50k for the AC and the resulting electricity cost jolted me, since I am the only one in the sala most of the time. Maybe I'll just wait for a good bargain to come and entertain the idea again.
Meanwhile, while it's really hot nowadays, I will familiarize myself with actual hp capacities. I noticed today that it took a long time for our 1.5hp window unit to cool our 20sqm room at max cool, 16c, but when I shifted it from energy saver default setting to hot, it started to cool better. Why am I saying this? Cause I saw in the internet that for 40 sqm needs 9400 btu and a 1hp window unit churns up to 12k btu?! Maybe I'll validate this with out room unit in the coming days.
Ang sarap lang talaga ng feeling na you can do what you want without the summer heat restricting you to your room.

Well looks like they're gonna make it easier na to transfer ownership. Timely since I need to...
