Yes, it is possible to transfer even the text messages: backup on iTunes, then load the backup file on the new/other phone. Done this from 5s to 6s plus, to 8. Pati level mo sa candy crush kasama, hehehe!

Is the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro still a good buy at 15-16k? How long has it been in the market?

Yes. I usually back it up via PC since it's faster than iCloud.

It copies everything and shifting from an old iPhone to a new one feels completely the same.

Android has Smart Switch, so convenient. I backup my phones to a computer every now and then.

Switching to a newer phone is also a breeze. I'm not sure if it has an apple counterpart.

IOS makes use of iTunes and the iCloud backup and restore feature. It's been a pleasant experience so far for me too. AFAIK messages are only backed up via iTunes local backup.

No, I never backup from iTunes. I only used iCloud and messages are always been restored.

Pwedeng via itunes backup para kumpleto. Also a lot faster than icloud unless you have a few hundred mbps connection sa bahay.
