Naging fanboy ako ng OnePlus after I got the 5T. If you want the overall best Chinese phone, it's OnePlus. Hardware (specs and build quality) and software maganda (except camera software). In fact masmabilis pa UI ng 5T ko compared to Note 9. Had to lower animation scale to 0.5 sa Note 9. Hehe.

And battery life of OnePlus is better. Sa 5 months kong paggamit nung 5T, once lang ako nagcharge during office hours. Kayang kayang umabot till midnight battery nung 5T. That's using Tapatalk, Chrome, IG and gaming. All day mobile data din while wala ako sa bahay.

Interesting yung mi 8 Explorer Edition, probably the only phone with the fastest and most accurate GPS connection right now.

That's impressive. Hows the screen outdoors. This is the highlight of the n9, office to the open parking lot di ko napansin but it's totally useable and smart enough not to blind me.

Most likely yan yung vanilla mi 8 lang sir, I think medyo malaki price gap ng mi 8 SE at mi 8 sa mi 8 EE. Hehe.

In other news, Sony just announced the new Xperia XZ3 last night, their first OLED QHD+ phone na mukhang Galaxy ripoff lol jk. Phones these days really look similar, 3D curved 18:9 displays, nagkakatalo lang sa laki ng bezels at rear design.

Apat na buwan pa lang XZ2 ko may kapalit agad. [emoji28]

I don't use auto brightness. Colors medyo masgusto ko Note 9. Sa brightness level, 5T kahit mababa maliwanag na. Pero siguro masmataas lang max brightness ng Note kaya masmataas level niya sa slider ko.

    Sony Xperia XZ3 hands-on - YouTube

The upcoming XZ3. Looks great but I don’t see a major differentiation from flagships that are already out.

Sony and their annoying 6-month flagship cycle. Ang bilis tuloy maluma ng flagship nila. Wonder why they can't stick with yearly cycle.

And with limited carrier avialability, di talaga tataas ang sales nila.

Sa karaniwang tao, ang alam lang nilang flagship phone ay iPhone and yung mga high end ng Samsung.

People will just think that a high end Sony/LG etc is the same as a china phone. These flagships from other brands have little brand equity to the general buying public.

LG could go toe to toe with Apple and Samsung pero their marketing is not good. Kulang sa exposure unlike Samsung na ang daming ads. My G3 served me well. Yung V20 naman kahit na problematic (image retention, boot loop then permanently died a month after warranty lapsed) naenjoy ko. V30 naman seems nice after checking reviews.

True, with limited marketing and availability people miss out a lot on great (sometimes even better) options other than the more popular ones.

But then again, the consumers still win kasi madaming choices, with varying preferences, there's no one-size-fits-all phone anyway, hindi lang yung sumusunod sa hype. [emoji28]

Yeah I'm happy to be a normie.

Pinagdaanan ko rin yang stage where you're in right now where you compare specs etc etc. I'm a very detail oriented person and I applied that principle not just with phones, but also with computers, cars, and anything that has specs.

I went through all sorts of phones before - from Nokia's glory days to Blackberry and eventually to Androids and iPhones. Nowadays I just buy last year's Samsung/Apple flagship because they're cheap and still better than most of the competition.

Yes some phone might have a better camera, or more RAM, or whatever superior spec. But at the end of the day the S and Note line of Samsung offers a great overall experience and none of the other flagships have enough differentiation.

In other words, unless another flagship is head and shoulders above Samsung's flagship, it's not enough reason to switch.
