kaya nag emergency alert ang telecom
dahil emergency yan para sa kanila
they can't deactivate half their users coz their income will take a massive hit
i'm sure they lobbied the gov't to extend the grace period

kung 90% registered the telecoms won't have problem deactivating 10%
pero 50% is a lot
yespo.
i was waiting for the prompt, just like what smart did, some time ago.
anyway, i googled earlier today.
finished everything in a few minutes.
the difficult part was the last part: "submit."
the instructions were, to repeat pressing the "submit" button. it took less than a dozen repeat presses for me.
and to assuage my doubt, they sent me a text message, congratulating my success at registration.

I think the problem is those from far flung areas. Sa news may lolo na may dumb phone, we have a lot of seniors that can't navigate a smartphone so they are using dumb phone.
The QC city hall just opened a help center for sim registration, few days before the deadline. Also gomo just started their registration few days before the deadline. Andyan din yung mga nag procrastinate.
Pero 3 months is too long. It removes the sense of urgency, especially to procrastinators. Siguro 30 days would have been enough.
majority of prepaid users keep the same number for years (prepaid sims don't get deactivated if you load regularly -- which is what most prepaid users do)
konte lang ung palit nang palit ng sim
mas hassle pa ung madeactivate ang sim dahil sa katamaran mag register
tapos bibili ng bagong sim which will have to be registered parin
might as well register the existing sim
No need to deactivate the unregistered sim if they have a "purgatory" for unregistered sim. Much like when you buy a new sim, you can't load that new sim, you can't send on that new sim, but you can receive sms on that new sim. So you can receive otp on the new sim and register it, then it will be activated. They can demote the existing unregistered sim to that state.
if telecoms currently make 1 billion per day and half the sims are deactivated by law, imagine how much they lose
kaya emergency alert
hindi emergency sa users
emergency para sa telecom
no wonder na-extend
tax revenue loss din para sa gobyerno
Parang tanga lang nag extend pa. Ganun pa rin yan pag malapit na deadline madami pa rin mag reklamo na hinde pa sila naka register.
Hayaan na mawalang ng sim card mgs engot.

naisip ko kasi diba you need a phone number for viber and whatsapp. I guess you can use it until a new person is assigned the number
Down yung globe one where I was trying to register my phone since Saturday, I kept on checking and checking, nung naka tiempo ako kahit na parang basahan yung suot ko and I looked like sh1t, I took the selfie. Now my disheveled look will forever be on a database somewhere!![]()
dumb phone yung prepaid ko pero I used my smart phone to register it. You only need the otp that the will send sa smart phone. I was also problematic kasi regular sim yun e micro na yung sa smart phone ko so hindi ko rin mas swap yung sim to use the smart phone to register
Maganda yan initiative ng QC, I hope they do something similar nationwide.
I also agree that 3 months is too long, 30 days okay na nga if they are gonna do something similar to what QC did.
Ugali ng mga pinoy yan ganyan, kaya yun mga mag register dapat kahapon eh sa July 24 nanaman mag register ulit.
Wala kwenta extension, you're just rewarding mga engot at procrastinators

Hindi naman siguro lahat sir.. gaya nung gomo sim dati sabi no need to register pero bigla nalang nila binago ang app and dimo na magagamit not unless mag register ka, wala ka naman marereceive na text from gomo if naka lagay sa pocket wifi ung sim...
another example is yung corporate account sa globe, dati no need to register, tapos biglang need to register na...
for months, smart was text barraging us to register, making it easy for us.
just press one button to register, literally!
we even thought at first, that it was a scam.
globe...
until last sunday,
ni ha, ni ho!
gomo,
nevair!
going to the physical globe store, "hindi po samin yan. gomo po yan." but they did not clue us in, on how to go gomo registration.
i had to inquire from third parties, i.e., tsikot.com folks.

I think another thing that worries the Telcos is if ma deactivate, ano ang bibilhin? Will they stick to the same brand or lilipat dahil sa inis na naputulan.
diba there's that saying... when you owe the bank a million the bank owns you
when you owe the bank billions you own the bank
not a perfect analogy but it's like mobile users called the telecoms/government's bluff
the threat of sim deactivation was suppose to scare people into registering their sims
50% of the users are like "sige deactivate niyo"
deactivating that many sims will be devastating to telecoms
di kaya ng telecoms so inextend ng gobyerno
