I bought a Sharp Aquos 24" TV for P8500 in 2014. Sharp service said that main/mother board is busted because he is unable to access the service menu. That is the reason why I have to reprogram the channel every time I turn it on as it is unable to store memory/channels. It won't power off na rin.

Sharp said the parts + labor will cost me P4332. Parts and warranty 3 mos lang. I am thinking if I should just wait until it stops working. Bunot na lang talaga sa saksakan and reprogram everytime I open it. Sharp guy said he is not sure how long my TV can last but it could be up to a 1 year pa.

The sharp guy said my TV model is very mabenta and this is the first time he encountered a busted mother board

My Mom said she will give P6000 and I can add na lang so I can buy a new TV. I am thinking I will buy a Smart TV na lang kaya so I can watch youtube on TV? Or pagawa ko na lang, may sukli pa ko sa P6000 that my Mom will give me.

    A 32 inch tv nowadays cost around 10 to 11k. 24 inch is only 7 to 8k.

I say replace if the issue is the mobo already.

The sukli is not that big unless you really need it.

Replace with a smart TV. Look at it as an opportunity to upgrade

Sayang kasi, gumagana pa, ayaw nga lang mag off at hassle mag reprogram every time I turn it on.

May Smart TV kaya na 24"? Also what is a good brand? That is the max size I can buy because that is what fits my desk.

I just want to be able to watch youtube on TV

i think these programs have a memory that is powered by a built-in battery.
so that when the plug is pulled or there is brown-out, the settings do not disappear.
find out if such battery is there. your problems might just be due to that busted battery.

What doc means is the crc battery.
Is cathy willing to get her hands dirty and disassemble the tv?

I don't mind getting my hands dirty but I might not be able to put it back together. I wonder why the Sharp service guy did not check that.

"because he didn't want to get his hands dirty?" heh heh.

also, "it's easier money, selling you a replacement part."

remember casas? "they don't repair. they replace."

Because it might not even exist?
Or it mighy be built in / non servicable part.

Or they are subliminaly telling you to just avail their service.
Or they are not experienced enough to know since as per initial post, this is their first time seeing this issue on this model.

Who knows how the schematics are..
