PS3 Slim is official

Ang iniintay ko na lang sa PS3 is Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted 2.

Sa Xbox 360 mas madami talagang magagandang exclusive games like Mass Effect 2, Modern Warfare 2 (meron din sa PS3 pero Xbox 360 is cheaper and Xbox Live is better so I will get this version), Bioshock 2 (meron din ata PS3 not so sure?), Forza Motorsport 2, NBA 2k10 (PS3 meron din), Left 4 Dead 2, Halo 3 ODST, Splinter Cell Conviction and of course Final Fantasy XIII (meron din sa PS3 pero dati exclusive lang sya for PS3 ngayon dual platform na to the angst of PS3 fanboys).

OT:

Yep, the xbox360 is the winner of this console generation when it comes to core gamers. In fact, if Microsoft is gonna announce a price drop, I'm gonna get my 2nd unit with hopefully the Gears of War 1&2 twin pack. Too bad GOW2 and COD:WAW additional contents are region and IP-blocked where I'm at (Jp region). Is it the same in the Philippines?

I have to go through all this crap just to get additional multiplayer maps for GOW2 >> http://www.xbox-360.co.za/forum/xbox...n-locking.html

hindi na ba nag 3rl yung xbox360? kaya ayaw ko kumuha ng 360 dahil dun. or nasolve na nila sa Jasper yung problema?

oo nga sir. nabasa ko lang kasi kanina na sa isang survey may 54% na nasisiraan ng xbox 360 pero small sample lang yun.

I bought mine for $299.99 tax free from amazon. Amazon makes at least 10% mark up on their wares.

If RP sells it at P17K, then it's expensive (P17K / $300 = P56.67). Current exchange rate is only P48.575 per USD. I guess import duties and mark up rates are like that over there.

Importers and retailers are making a killing!!! If you must, buy it overseas.

Speaking of the PS3 slim, I want to capitalize it's True HD audio format which I've learned is bitstreamed via HDMI. Hence, I'm setting my sights in getting a new AV receiver for this purpose. Pioneer and Onkyo system is on my shortlist. Hope this will make my BD viewing experience way much better.

here in Kuwait thye had it on promotion for 2 hours for only 12000 pesos.. lucky ton those who got hold of it i got mine on the same day but on it's original price value already which is $299.. but no regrets i still hav e a PS3 Slim and that's it. hehehe

as far as im concerned i played 10 hours straight last night and it's not heating up not like the version 1 ps3 which is too hot when you touch the back panel...

Performance, I guess is not much different from the previous version. Yes, it produces heat but I believe it is within acceptable limits. It's still very early to make any concrete judgements as few have expressed any adverse experiences. Beyond BD playback and games, I find the free online integration of the playstation franchise quite interesting.

Games played: HAWX, COD4, Endwar, FightNight4, Killzone 2, GT Prologue
BD played: Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Planet Earth, Wall-E, Pirates of the Caribbean
Several DVDs and Audio CDs also displayed very good reproduction.
