anong advantage nito sa Win XP Pro? i'm planning kasi to reinstall the OS in my PC. kung mas ok ang media center ed, ito nalang ang install ko. baka hindi pa kasi kayanin ng system ko ang vista.

choice nyo na lang yan sir.... pwede XP Pro or Media Center... pero if an XBOX 360 is on the horizon of your purchase decisions... install Media Center para they communicate right away....
sa site ng microsoft, pwede daw itong Media Center for watching and recording TV shows. pano ito?
If I remember correctly, you need to have a tv tuner that's supported by MS Media Center and the remote.
Here's the link from the MS home page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/m...p/default.mspx
i'm currently using winxp pro. what would i lose if i switched to media center? would switching to media center be considered an upgrade or a downgrade of my current OS?
That depends. How much of XP Pro's unique features do you actually use at home? I can't remember much of XP Pro's unique functions besides Backup and support for 2 cpus.
You lose the domain-related stuff but gain built-in TiVo functions/dvd-burning since MCE is geared towards media stuff.
Yeah you lose business networking functions... For me having a Media Center OS is a downgrade on the point of price of OEM (8,000 for Pro, 7,000 for Media Center)...
ano ba yung mga business networking functions ng pro? with media center, i can still network my PCs at home, right?
OS ko is windows XP media center edition roll up somehting something.... d ko sha nagagamit really. it was a free upgrade? when i bought my computer... minsan lang nakakainis pag nagpasok ako ng CD binabasa din ng media center edition mejo bumabagal mag read... feeling ko nalilito ang computer nangengealam kase sa pag play ang media center... pero i havent really explored the thing so i cant really say much about it all i do is play music on it pag nasa room ako.![]()
hmmm...pag ginagamit mo ang computer mo for editing, photo work and other media related work, will MCE be better than XP Pro in terms of speed and stability?![]()
MCE should be based off XP Pro without the domain functions. I don't have it here. So, I'm wondering if someone knows if it has the Backup application found in XP Pro?
As for stability, I see no difference between XP Home, Pro, or MCE. They're all fine to me.
so pwede bang sabihin na the media center is just a sugar coated xp pro without the business networking functions?
please clarify for me. Windows XP MCE is a sugar coated Win XP Home or Win XP Pro?
Previous versions of Windows XP MCE were based off XP Pro. Logic says v.2005 should be too. But, it's hard to find if features of XP Pro such as dual physical cpu support and that Backup app also made it to MCE 2005.
The only definite conclusion is that MCE 2005 is much more than XP Home.
