Doubtful if there would be any movement for the AAO/110 until it is already discontinued. It simply has no competition at it's price level. The more expensive EEE PC 900 has already been discontinued and that would be been the closest match to the specs of the AAO 8G.

BTW, the AAO/150 (or the AAO with 8.9" LCD, 1gig ram and 120gig HDD) has already been discontinued by Acer. It's currently selling at around P17K with SIX CELL battery included. Available at PC Corner. This would be as close as you can get if you are currently looking for a bargain netbook PC.

The reason why the AAO/150 has been discontinued is that the AAO/103 unit has replaced it. Specs include 10" LCD, 160 gig HDD, 1gig ram, bluetooth, six cell battery (5800mAh) and Intel Atom N280 cpu.

Only for the AAO/110 and the phased out AAO/115 models. The new model AAO/103 (10" LCD, 160gig HDD) has it's six cell battery flush to the chassis/casing.

BTW, it's not only Acer that have their six cell battery extending out from it's chassis/case. Even Asus EEE, Lenovo S10, Red Fox, etc have their netbooks' six cell battery extending out since they were initially intended to have only three cell battery to lower the retail price of the units.

But having the battery case extended out of the chassis is a minor consequence to having twice more battery life without having to plug-in. It's almost possible to use such netbooks for the whole day on battery power alone if you economize power usage (low screen brightness, etc).

Standard Acer battery ganun. Ok lang naman yung "lawit". Less length and it also elevates the keyboard slightly for more comfortable typing position.
