Wouldn't be surprised if you can find one for much less. Netbooks are a dying piece of technology.

You can buy the Asus Eee PC X101CH with DOS and then install your own copy of Windows7. Sells for around P11K. Decent speed. Only downside would be the three cell battery which would be good for around 2 to 2.5 hours of use.
Styling is nice and sleek (other netbooks tend to be "chunky"). Plus it is quite lightweight.

The HP DM1 above is about the lowest I would go if I am buying a netbook and planning to use it as a sort of main pc. Screen is about the barest minimum to be Windows 8 compliant and it has a capable E-1800 1.7Ghz CPU. My Acer Aspire with 10.1" 1280x720 display still doesn't cut it for Windows 8. So how much more for those Atom 10-inchers with 1200x600. It works, but with limitations. Otherwise, just remember the ff. when buying netbooks with Windows 8 now or in the future:
Screen, minimum resolution: 10.1'-11.6" with 1024x768. That could be 1366x768, but not 1280x720.
CPU: For Intel, at least Atom N2800 dual-core 1.86 Ghz, or for AMD at least E-1800 1.7Ghz, also dual core.

Netbooks as we knew them, yes. But the form factor will continue in many other forms with faster processors and more features (and a higher price tag too). An example is the Asus Vivo 11inch laptop which looks like an ultrabook and features a touchscreen and Windows 8. Sells around P27K.

Buhay na buhay ang BGC this evening. Bukas halos lahat ng restaurants. Sabi pa nung isang cashier...
