imho sa aking notebook hunting get atleast 1.6ghz processor, at least 512mb ram and better optical drive and after sale support for the least price...

    good luck

Dont buy that. The supplier of NEO has a New Promo wherein a Centrino Laptop is now available for 39,999. That model your referring to ay bumagsak na ang presyo to 29,999.

wag ka mag generic, makakuha ka ng mga acer or toshiba for roughly the same price. Sigurado ka pa sa reliability dito

We own a NEO laptop ourselves. No complaints so far. We had to upgrade from our reliable ASUS A3400L since it was getting too sluggish for photo and video editing. Plus we needed something that was capable of burning to DVD, without burning a hole in our pockets.

    NEO Q-Note Empriva 540NX

    - Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology
    - Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2300
    (1.66GHz, 2Mb L2, 667MHz FSB)
    - Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset
    - Intel® PRO / Wireless LAN 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g)
    - Microsoft® Windows® Media Center Edition and Microsoft® Works
    pre-installed
    - 512Mb DDR2-667MHz (we intend to have this upgraded to 1GB)
    - 80Gb SATA Mobile HDD
    - 14.1in. WXGA TFT Color LCD (wide screen)
    - integrated 1.3MP web camera
    - 8X DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
    - Intel® GMA 950
    - 10-100-1000Mbps Gigabit LAN
    - 56Kb modem
    - 4-in-1 card reader (MMC, SD, MS, MS Pro)
    - 3 x USB 2.0 port
    - 1 x IEEE 1394 port (Firewire 4-pin)
    - S-Video output
    - S/PDIF out
    - VGA out
    - 6-cell lithium ion battery (up to 4 hrs.)
    - comes with free mouse, free carry case and all original drivers
    - 1 year warranty

It's funny, me promo ang NEO nung April-May 2006, 10k off the regular price (P69,999) if you trade in your old desktop/laptop computer. Then they extended the promo until supplies lasted, hindi pa rin kami umabot. About a month later, nabili din namin yung unit without having to trade in anything -- and it only cost us P52,999.

How about the Toshiba Satellite L30. It's price is P42,000 +. I was not able to get the full details, except for:

    Intel Celeron M
    256 Memory
    Wireless
    2 USB
    56 kb modem

one thing you might want to check is Neo has comprehensive support in following areas:
    -bios updates
    -s/w updates
    -after sales support

those things you'll start looking for along the way
you may wish you had it some cases

I saw it on PC Express Online. The 0% promo is extended up to July 31, 2006. However, when we inquired from its Fairview Branch, we were told that after some verifications the credit card company (BPI Mastercard) is not honoring their promo extension.

This is toshiba's new entry level notebook pc. Personally, i would choose this over the neo. A difference of 2000+ isnt all that much. With this product you could be assured of product support.

note: this is the Asian specs for this laptop, not sure though if this is the same specs they have for the Philippines (probably is, but im not too sure if OS is included)

    1st call hp/compaq phil..

2nd hp/cpq phil will refer you a tool free no. for tech supp and ask for part no. of need part(s).. indian tounge ang nasa other end

3rd with the part no. of needed spare parts, only then you can proceed to order from hp/compaq phils, pay the bill at bpi, fax your order with the deposit slip, confirm your order and payment if received, then ask for delivery date

    4th wait

This is the one. The OS is included. Kaya lang masyado maigsi ang battery life ng standard battery - 1.5 hrs. only. Also, it is 1" wider that my Toshiba Satellite A50, which was bought more than a year ago - hindi pala sa akin, sa office pala.

    Btw, I already bought it.

    Thanks for your inputs.
