I am thinking of getting this brand coz it's cheap & it'll simplify my life. I won't need to bring around 2 phones anymore for business and personal use. But before I get one, I was wondering if any of you have had experience with the brand. Pls. reco other alternatives if this brand ain't worth it. Thanks.

my gf has a nokia e71 clone... china dual sim phone. before this unit she had a china dual sim phone too. she used it for about 3 years then nag sawa na. but the china phone is tough naka ilan hulag na din tapos once na buhusan ng tubig. still works.

she's been using the e71 clone for about 6 months na. so far so good. simple nga lang applications but for basic functions and a price of 3800(includes 2 batteries) ok na din

Samsung is better. Although almost all of Samsung products suck, their phones are quite okay. d880 dual sim is around 10k lang ata. Newer version of that is B5702.

There's another one, d980 but there's a newer revision, I just forgot what.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I heard that MyPhone is China-made and based on the comments about the clones, then it should perform well. I'm just a basic phone user: call, text, occasional photos, and games when bored so I don't really need all the bells and whistles that come with a lot of high end brands.

*Horsepower, ok sana ang D880 but it's a slider, like my current Samsung SGH-U70 w/c has been to the Samsung shop 2x for repair of its screen whose colors and display would act up. The tech said that this is a common problem among sliders and clamshells. With that, plus the price, I'm a bit wary about the D880, w/c also looks clunky based on the photos.

have used one before. feel quality is cheap, UI is poor, but excellent voice quality for both active SIMs. battery life is also good. averages around 4 days in between charging (under normal use).

functionalities are also limited. to conclude, ok lang if basic call and text and if you use two mobile phones, so that you carry one unit na lang.

    samsung is a good alternative.

and one more thing, avoid the Verzio dual sim phones. crappy unit.

Im also looking for dual sim phone to replace my old unit. To date, Im using two cellphones, both SonyEricsson brand for Smart and Sun Cellular networks.

I'll use the dual sim unit for call and text only. I'll retain my Sun sim and get rid of the "Smart" one. (Before Smart is "Simply AmaZing", now it's "Simply AmaSSing Load").

My first choice was myPhone brand, but recently I see this eTouch brand. I got a brochure/flyer and the D35 model looks good (on paper), priced at P3,XXX. Anyone who had experience or at least tried this unit/brand? TIA

MyPhone manufactures their phones in their factory in China. They also customize the firmware with Pinoy content.

Cherry Mobile, afaik, relabels phones from various manufacturers. That is why their product range varies significantly in terms of features, specs, and quality. Even the batteries and chargers have different designs and build. So while some of their models provide value for money, some others are not as attractive.

But that is not to say MyPhone models have the same quality across the board. While I find the Q21 Duo impressive (for its price) I do find the cheaper Q22 Duo way inferior in terms of build finish.

In term of firmware, practically all the China-made "generic" phones these days use chipsets from Mediatek, which also provides the operating system. Hence the software and user-interface are more or less similar. MyPhone tries to distinguish their models by adding localized contents for Pinoy users.
