do they randomly inspect the softwares installed inside laptops if they're genuine or pirated?
di ba some airports do not allow the entry of fake clothes?

November 6th, 2006 04:59 PM #3In my experience, airports in SEA dont scrutinize as far as verifying if all the programs in your laptop are original. But during heightened security, you can be randomly asked to open and turn on your laptop to demonstrate its actually functioning.

November 6th, 2006 05:04 PM #4on my way to sydney four months ago, they asked me to boot the laptop. hanggang dun lang.
they did not bother running the control panel to check the installed programs or check the c:\program files directory.

November 6th, 2006 05:25 PM #7Ako din wala pang experience kahit sa U.S. pinapalabas lang yung laptop (lalagay sa tray) at bubuksan lang yung lid. Hindi na papa-on ang laptop.

November 6th, 2006 06:08 PM #9Hindi po nila chinecheck ung software sa laptop. Ung laftaf itself lang po ang chinecheck nila.
Sa Northwest Airlines, they use a sofisticated machine where they swipe th surface and keyboard area of your laptop witha special lithmus paper and this paper goes into that machine and checks it for TNT or explosive residues....

November 6th, 2006 06:33 PM #11wala akong na experience na checking on softwares... i carried around 2 notebooks nun travel ko sa US they just asked me to turn on my computer tapos turn off ulet... i had a couple of CDs in the bag too they never asked what it was for... siguro pag may napansin lang silang file sharing software? im not sure

November 6th, 2006 06:59 PM #13It would also help if you carry laptop in a bag that doesnt scream "LAPTOP", meaning ditch those bags that came with your laptop purchase and try getting those backpack type or something.
When I went to Canada (Vancouver) three years ago, during the immigration interrogation they asked if I had laptop with me (I DIDNT bring one) bec. the bag looked like it was for a laptop.
