What do you guys think about Realme smart tvs? I have a Realme phone Globe gave me & quite impressed by it. Its only P11,990 for the 32 incher & looks far better than the no namers in Abenson or other shops.

I don't get it why TV makers still consider the remote an accessory and not replaceable through warranty.

All new TVs are designed to be used with a remote. It's not like there are easily accessible control in the front.

No wonder there are many 3rd party remote controls sold online.

maybe because it is physically separate from the mother unit, and easily replaceable.
    call it what we want,
the replacement unit is readily available naman, siguro... at a price.

when out trinitron original remote went dead,
i opted for the lesser model replacement remote. ok naman.

Our current TV has only one physical button, power button, kaya pag nawala or nasira remote eh wala na kwenta ang TV. Since its a relatively new model at nakikita ko pa sa shopee mga chinese remote na clone nya, bumili na lang ako noon at yun ginagamit ko. Tinago ko yung original.

Iniisip ko kasi pag ginamit ko original remote ngayon then 5 years later nasira, baka hindi na available sa shopee yung clone nya since it will be an old model that time. Same with my soundbar, may function sya na sa remote lang makikita.

I think, TVs with only 1 button can be toggled to different functions with a press being enter. But then kahit ganun, mas mahirap pa rin pag walang remote. Mabuti pa ang old TVs na walang remote pero may rotary channel selector at volume and picture buttons in front.

    personally,
if i had the clone, i'd keep it and use the original.
when the original breaks down, i'd hie over to the AD and buy a replacement. if there ain't no replacement, then i'd use the kept clone.

there is a chance that by the time the remote breaks down, i would already be looking for a more modern replacement monitor.

Same with laptops, my colleagues often use a mouse with their units not because it is easier to use but because they want to prolong the life if their mousepads. But my experience is that the it's the monitor that often breaks first.

As with the TV itself, they make an initial check before they decide if the defect will be covered by the warranty, don't they? I'm sure they can identify if the defect is due to negligence or if it's really a factory defect.

They designed the TV with the remote as an essential part of its operation so I think it shouldn't be treated as a mere peripheral anymore.

We're careful with the remote so I am positive this is a factory defect. The brand offers a replacement pero 1k+ ang presyo. Inyo na lang yang replacement nyo.

No choice but to buy a knock off online.

Been looking for Android TV remotes at lahat may ads.

I already placed an order for a replacement sa Shopee. All 5-star reviews kaso wala namang nag-provide ng pic.

If your android TV is connected to your Google account, try the Google home app and Google TV app. They both have remote for android TV. You just have to be connected on the same WiFi as your TV.

it's usually dirt, that causes button failure.
that is why i put my remote in an appropriately-sized plastic bag.

if you can manage to open the remote (and this is usually the most difficult part of cleaning),
you will find that the buttons are but a rubber pad with elevated nodules that correspond to the buttons. the underside of these nodules can be cleaned.
under the rubber pad are physical contact switches that can be cleaned.
done correctly, the remote is restored.

I do the same doc. Pero I use plastic cling wrap. Para neat at malinaw yung buttons thru plastic.

it is what it is..just pry the remote plastic cover and clean it up

im in the process of replacing my tv remote which is way out of warranty..check the model number of the remote and search it online..if u get lucky a shopee or lazada hit will produce a cheaper result

there are also IR remote controls that can be linked to a smart phone nowadays worth P300 only sa shopee

When I bought my Mi 65" TV, I immediately looked for a compatible remote online. Sa Shopee yata ako nakabili.
Medyo unwieldy kasi for me yung original remote kasi napakahaba. The one on the right is probably 3/4 of the original one.
Ang na-miss ko lang with the simple remote is the "Settings" button.

I compensate by just using the Google button to call up the settings menu, which isn't very often naman.
What I need the remote for is just the volume, back/ return, power and occasionally the Netflix buttons lang naman.
Hindi kasi compatible sa ISDB-T TV standards natin yung tuner niya so no use for the Channel buttons.
Since mostly hawak ko rin naman ang celphone ko while watching, I also use the Mi remote control app to control the TV.
The app came with my Poco phone na so wala nang mga ads. The one I use for the HiSense yun ang may ads.

My LG V20 has one and I use that to prank my officemates using our LED TV at work.

Back in the day, maraming tindero sa kalsada naglalako ng mga TV remotes kasama ng mga Game n Watch.
Especially para dun sa mga popular brands like Sony, Toshiba, Sharp, Sanyo, Philips, JVC, atbp. going for 100.00 only.
Yung sa Sony, they usually work with most of their TVs.

Sumikat din yung Logitech Harmony programmable universal remote control.
I have one for my HT setup. I was able to program it for the AVR and the projector.

May mga nabibili na silicone type protector if your remote happens to be of a popular size or brand.

I already found a replacement sa Shopee.

Great idea by TCL to have 2 remotes. At least they didn't cheap out on their customers.

Makahanap nga ng isa pang compatible remote. Dami ring buttons na hindi naman nagagamit.
