Have tried so many Chinese TVs in the different hotels I've stayed in. Panget lagi UI - not intuitive and quite slow to respond. Also, the Devant TV in my in-laws' place began to deteriorate (blurred display) after just 2 years. Our Sony Bravia is over a decade old and still working as good as it did in day 1.

Personally when I was shopping for a TV, was only looking at the established brands (Sony, Samsung, LG, Sharp). Also considered other Japanese brands like Toshiba and Panasonic although they didn't really specialize in TVs. Yes the Chinese TVs are cheap and I know that they are OEM manufacturers of other brands, but for 5-10k difference vs the established brands, I didn't mind paying the premium.

Ended up with a Samsung NU8000 55" 4K Smart TV, got it for 39k last summer. A similarly spec'd TV would be cheaper now I assume.
