I'd go for backpack types para puwedeng lagyan pa ng iba. Tulad ng baon hehehe.

I'm using one that was a giveaway from my previous company ok naman.

Yung Acer laptop ko dati may free na bag. ngayon, yung 4 year old Dell laptop ko may free bag din. Kung kailangan ko ng laptop bag, I'll go for the backpack type. Marami sa Columbia Megamall.

Hmmmm. I came to the conclusion that the ideal protection for my laptop would be a case with a rigid exterior and padded exterior*. Obviously, none of the backpacks and traditional laptop cases fit the bill. But, my cousin sent me an aluminum 15.4" laptop briefcase which is barely 3" thick and is a precise fit to my new Toshiba laptop. Being aluminum, it's pretty light and rigid. It's thin enough to prevent the laptop from jostling inside.

It fits quite well in my backpack because of it's small size and not heavy at all. I'd say laptop + power cords/brick + aluminum case = 10 lbs total.

    * I don't want any pressure whatsoever exerted on the laptop lid.

It looks almost like this one:
