Here's a chart:
Intel Processors
The Core 2 Duos have a faster bus speed and one large 4MB cache. The Pentium Duo Cores have a slower bus speed and 2 separate 2MB caches.Last edited by bluntman; July 6th, 2007 at 08:23 AM.

Core Duo = Yonah core, 32bit....mostly for mobility usage
Core2Duo = Merom core, comes in desktop (conroe) and server (woodcrest) flavors, 64bit architecture

According to this chart the Athlon 64 X2 processors have a maximum of 1x1MB on-board caches versus a Core 2 Duo's 2x2MB on-board caches. Ouch!
