May 10th, 2018 08:29 PM #121Got it! I just love the smell of brand new!
According to the manual, a 2 hour wait is required to help settle the refrigerant within. However, I decided to let it sit for at least 24 hours.
The next day, I read the manual again and it says to connect the grounding first. Done. I then plugged the ref to the AVR which is connected to a surge suppressor with line filter.
When turned on, I have to set it to the maximum setting. So, I did:
The manual said I have to wait for an hour before putting in stuff. However, I decided to let it sit until the next day. Since I wanted to test the coldness, I placed a coffee mug in the freezer filled with water.
On the next day, I measured the temperature with a laser thermometer on the ref first. It reads -3.7°C. It's colder than the 1°C ref setting. Pretty good!
Next, I opened the freezer and pointed the thermometer at the coffee mug with the frozen water in it. It reads -18.7°C. It's almost 5°C warmer than the setting. It should read at least -23°C. Something is not right. Not to panic. It's only physics. I hope.
Since water has a freezing point of 0°C, it will have difficulty reaching -23°C. So, I filled the coffee mug with canola oil, since cooking oil has a much lower freezing point of -10°C.

May 10th, 2018 08:30 PM #122I closed the freezer door and waited for at least 3 hours. After 3 hours, this is what I got:
Ha! It's -23.8°C! It's -0.8°C colder than the setting! Yes! Perfect!
I'm impressed and happy with the purchase. The ref is strangely silent though. I had to place my ear on the side of the ref to hear it hum.
I just hope this ref would last me a decade.

May 10th, 2018 11:41 PM #126From WhiteWestingHouse ba yun? to National to Panasonic naging ref namin.. Yung National buhay pa til now nasa 20 years na ata sya or mas matagal pa.. Tapos yung panasonic 1 year old pa lang.. hehehe.. Yung Samsung ng mga biyenan ko nawala na ang lamig (6years old) Mukhang yung board ang may tama.. At ang sabi ng tumingin sa samsung kapag board ang tinamaan it is better to buy a new one than to repair na daw dahil mahal magagastos ah hindi worth it..

May 11th, 2018 11:45 AM #130^They call it in-built stabilizer which is basically an AVR. My model doesn't have this feature.
