Anything specific (spec, description) I should look out for?

No other physical installation needed. May software driver namang kasama yan eh.

Usually, the faster the better (8x pataas na speed).

Gaano katagal mag-burn? It depends on how large the files are. It will also depend on how fast/powerful the burner is.

hehe, kung 36 discs, mahigit isang buwan yan

ano ba naman yung friend mo na yan, marunong bang gumamit ng PC yan? it only takes a few minutes to copy and burn a dvd.

    36 x 4.5 = 162 GB ... hehehe ... forget the backup

36 x 10 = 360 discs to write ... hehehe ... i'm sure a few dvd writers will fail before you complete the project if done without rest

but if you go slow, say make 10 discs a day, the dvd writer might survive after 36 days

Wala nang space for an external burner sa computer stand.

here's a link for dvd-writers including yung model mentioned above..

my bad ... hehehe ... so madali nga yan kung meron kang dvd writer but remember to let the writer rest after every few disks written

now you can do the backup image file kasi isang disk lang pala yung kokopyahin ...

Saan po ba may bukas na CD-R King? I went to Megamall Cyberzone earlier this month to buy blank DVD discs, but I couldn't find the store anymore. Nagsara na ba yung branch nila dito, at saan pa meron?

Yup, CD-R King Megamall is just a kiosk at the Cyberzone area (dun ako lagi bumibili dati nung sa QC pa kami nakatira), but I couldn't find it anymore the last time I went there Any other reputable stores (kahit sa Gilmore or other places in QC) where one can buy quality DVD-R discs in bulk?

best place to go to for h/w and media pa rin is gilmore, or sa virra mall 3rd floor. dami pala shops sa gilid niya.

CD-R king branches i've been to: gilmore (2/f), megaworld sa eastwood (2/f, above the area ng ministop sa likod sa loob ng megaworld), glorietta (naligaw lang ako kaya ko nakita and i need to get lost uli dun to find it), MRT Ayala station, virra mall (3/f, computer area).

i've tried burning a DVD+R while backing up a lot of anime i got, on an 8x burner it took me about 20minutes per 4.7GB DVD+R disc.

doc otep, if you can get a drive na DVD+/-RW, better yan. iba pa kasi pag sinabi mo na DVD+R(or RW) at DVD-R(or RW), they're different standards na totally incompatible with each other. otherwise, get a DVD+RW drive, majority use the + standard.

oh yeah, offer din ako to burn the discs for you if you like, provide ka lang discs. dito lang ako visayas ave, cargirl knows a bit where i am. :D

Guys, salamat po sa mga offers. I really appreciate them.

So far, gumagana naman. It took 13 minutes to burn one DVD. Yehey! Dami ko talaga natutunan sa Tsikot. Thanks!
