Help: The [DVD] Burning [and Burner] Question

Hi guys. I have some lectures that I need to copy. They're on DVD-R's and I don't think my PC can burn DVD's. I'm just wondering if there's any shop I can have them burned? Preferably in Megamall (because I'll be going there) or in my immediate neighborhood (Tandang Sora, Visayas Ave., Commonwealth, Congressional, etc.).

Btw, how much does it cost to burn a DVD? I'd be making at least 10 copies in total.

Doc, kung Megamall, try mo sa mga Internet shops sa Cyberzone (4th floor, Building B). Pwede mo ding subukan sa Fax N Parcel (basement level, Building A).

No idea kung magkano burning, pero baka mas makatipid ka if you bring your own DVD-Rs.

Sir kung i-copy ko sa hard disk ko yung content nung DVD-R tapos iburn ko sa CD-R ok lang ba? Yung contents kasi ng DVD-R napapanood ko ngayon sa Windows Media Player.

[edit] Hindi pala kasya sa CDR yung laman nung DVD-R. Nakupo. hehehe. Saan kaya maganda magpa-burn?

sa cdr king ka bili dvdr super mura dun, pero minsan di maiwasan bad disc kasi nga super mura hehe..kung importante ang integrity ng copy pwede imation or tdk. sony meron na rin mura dvdr

Dami nga lesser expensive DVD's sa CD-R King. Pati mouse meron silang mura lang. hehehe. Kaso saan ko kaya mapapaburn ito? Totoo bang Php150.00/disc ang burning ng DVD o nagulangan ang friend kong nagpaburn dati?

Saan ba merong burner na mura and anong brand/model yun (for future reference)?

Kung maraming maliliit na files ang laman nung DVD, pwedeng ilipat muna sa HD tapos burn sa CD. Kung may file na > 750-800 MB, baka pwedeng isplit nalang (nakita ko lang ginawa before, pero hindi ko pa natry) tapos pagsamahin ulit dun sa gagamiting PC. Yung 150.00/DVD taga yun, most probably nagulangan nga. Mas ok magpaburn sa mga cafes na maraming kalaban/katabi para mura. Dala ka nalang ng sarili mong DVDs.

yung disc na gusto mong kopyahin, sabi mo lectures ... is the DVD-R written as a DVD movie disc? or is it written as DVD data disc with movie files (e.g. mpg, mp4, divx) ?

the second case is easy because it is a drag & drop thingy to copy on your hard disk

for the first case, a DVD movie disk ... if the lectures are quite important to require a backup, i suggest that you create an image file of the DVD-R on your hard disk which you can use to recreate the movie with appropriate hardware (DVD writer) ... file to file copy will not work to restore the movie in this case, you need that one big image file as backup/restore file

of course it is possible to convert a dvd movie disk into movie file/s that you could transfer to CD-R's but you probably don't have time to go thru the learning curve ... it is not a single-click procedure

Mga malalaking .wmv files ata siya dahil sa media player lumalabas (so parang DVD data disc, tama po ba?). Isang file lang ang kasya sa CDR (yung DVDR minsan seven ang files na laman). Hindi kaya sumuka ang hard disk ko kung ilagay yung laman ng 36 discs dito?

Apparently, this is not as easy as dismantling cars. :D

I can do it for you, Tandang Sora lang kami malapit sa UP Diliman. Pwede mong iwan sa guard yung mga discs, para kahit hindi tugma sched natin oks lang.

50 yata ang going rate per dvd (disc not included), so 1.8k din gastos mo for 36 discs. better buy ka na lang dvd burner..

got mine last month for 2k (LG)...
