Feedback request: Treo 650 users

H fellas. I was wondering if you could help me out. See, my wifey wants a Tre0 650. Yeah, yeah...old technology and stuff but bottom line is: she wants it and I'm planning to grant her wish. Well, kinda. I wanted to get some feedback first from you guys regarding performance and overall bang-for-the-buck.

I was offering to get her either an iPAQ 610c, an O2 XDA Atom Life or the SE P1 pero ayaw nya eh. Gusto nya yung Treo 650. Amf....

Anyways, I'd appreciate any user feedback you might have - at least I would know what she...well I (ako naman kuklulitin nya dun na turuan sya pag-gamit eh)...would be getting into.

iwan na ang features ng treo 650.... I think after the 600 nagflop na sila (treo)...this was the time XDA2 was released. initially i was gunning for the treo (600) but this was natalo ng XDA2 so I went XDA2....then months later nawala na parang bula ang 600 and released the 650.

better naman ang features nito... and since your wife is not tech-kie... pede na yan. just be prepared na BAKA wala na gaanong accessories yan by next year (memory, batter and handsfree).

If she really wants the Treo650, eh di just grant it. At least, you'll be both happy.

*WT: yep, hinde sya techie. She likes the basic functionality nung Treo. Sabi ko nga XDA na lang pero ayaw nya eh. However...

*HP: ...she might consider the 700. I explained to her na mas okay yung 700 kaysa 650. Pero kung 650 talaga gusto nya, oks lang - akoy dakilang tagasunod lang sa kanya kung ano ang giliw nya. ;)

currently using a treo650... it may not have cutting edge tech but its usability is very high. the qwerty keyboard is superb. threaded SMS. calendar is quick and straightforward to use. great battery life. it's got a ringer mute switch, no more fumbling through profiles menus...

callrec can automatically record your phone conversations. tcpmp can play dvdrips straight. with tomeraider you can load the entire wikipedia on sdcard.

accessories, no problem. treo 650 can use nokia 2.5mm wired headset. data cable costs 80 pesos at cdrking.

main weakness is web browser, it's crap. bu then again why surf on a mobile device...

against any non-qwerty smartphone i'd still choose the treo 650.

but against a VGA qwerty winmob that's another story....

my feed back:

2 years ng ginagamit ko ang 650 ko (palitan sila ng n95 ko). user friendly ang 650 pagdating sa menu at keyboard nya (opinion ko lang po). since na touchscreen madaling mag-navigate pa. at bonus yung qwerty kasi madaling mag text message

pero pagdating sa camera (vid and pic) nya, hindi maganda ang mga kuha . at mandatory na lagyan mo ng sd card pag gusto mong ma enhance ang multi-media experience mo. dahil hindi mo pwedeng lagyan ng mp3 files, mag save ng pictures at videos pag walang sd card.

ang kinaiinisan ko pa minsan, kagaya ng computer, ito ay nagha-hang kaya reset/reboot uli ang phone (problema ito ng 600-650). ewan ko lang sa 700 and above kong nagha-hang din. at parang may sariling utak dahil paminsan-minsan bigla na lang itong magre-reset . at mabigat ito kumpara sa mga ibang phones.

pinakamataas siguro na presyong ibabayad ko sa 650 ay 8 thousand pesos kung ako ay bibili ngayon.
