Feedback Re:Destiny Cable Internet

Any current users? How's the service? Actually, dapat gagawin ko na 'tong thread na 'to last week pa before I get Destiny's service but thanks to PLDT MyDSL, I cannot connect to the internet! :fire:

Anyways, I got the service na. Hindi naman noticable yung difference sa speed during peak hours pero pag patak ng 11pm onwards 1+Mbps na ako! Ang bilis! hehehe!

DSL ka na lang bro. Cousin ko sa Taft sila nagpakabit, mabilis daw kaso minsan pag walang signal buong araw walang internet hehehe. DSL sigurado, hassle lang talaga if kunwari may ginagawa di ka din maka-connect.

taga sta mesa ako, (pina santol to be exact). Ive been using smartbro for over a year now, and im generally satisfied. Pero nung bago pa lang ang connection ko mabagal, di ako makapanuod sa youtube ng dirediretso. Ngayon kaya na makanuod ng isang buong video without buffering. And its been months since i last had problems with my connection.

with regards to destiny, dito sa area namin our neighbor went months without dsl connection. The destiny people were not able to troubleshoot, they ended up asking destiny to just cancel their subscription. This was back in 2005, not sure if QOS for destiny has improved since then.

I've been on Destiny since 2004. Ang masasabi ko lang, it works for me.

There were some bumps on the road initially and talking with their tech support was never fun, but when it works, it works beatifully. Download speeds are more than adequate, a full episode of my favorite shows takes only 30 minutes on a good day.

Downtimes have been few and far between, I can only recall one major incident where the outage was of the extended nature (3 days walang connection). They experienced a cut line then after a storm, so I didn't deduct pogi points from them on that.

Nawawala kapag umuulan? Never happened to me! Frankly, I can't imagine how/why that would be the case. Kung Smart Bro sana...

My advice to you is to keep it if it makes you happy.

i've used destiny before PLDT mydsl. sabi ko sa'yo, I dread the day na pag-uwi ko eh umuulan sa Ortigas Center. siguradung mabagal o kaya wala na.

maybe it has something to do with the Coaxial cable nila, pag nabasa grounded. di tulad ng PLDT, fibre optics

Ganyan ba sa Ortigas? Ok naman po dito sa Makati although pag may bagyo, minsan hazy yung cable tv namin.

Php499 for the first two months then Php999 per month. There is no lock-in period but you have to pay Php2k deposit for the modem for 8 months. After that, pwede i-apply sa payment yung deposit.

Depende po sa inyo sir. In our area, we were one of the first to use PLDT MyDSL here. Ok naman nung una. Naka-problema lang sila sa kin na di nila ma-resolve so I switched to Destiny.

Maybe their uplink then was satellite. When were you a Destiny subscriber? Or it could be due to where you're located.

I don't think that's the cause. When they say "fiber", it's not fiber all the way from their central office to your home. Same as with cable.

anyway, mabilis siya kung sa mabilis. download all day baby..

sa house naman, we had destiny for the past 4 years ata. no complaints with the connection too. kahit umuulan.

pero eto lang ang con na nakikita ko: tech support is hard to contact. as in tsambahan kung may sasagot. and who the hell came up with their 24-hour tech support kuno? pag dating pa lang ng 5pm wala na. hehehe

anyway, just to reiterate sa iba, mabilis-kung sa mabilis ang connection pero tech support sucks. they can only come on either Tuesday or Friday sa 'min.

so when sira yung connection sa Office dumating na sila on the 2nd Friday pa. all in all, almost 2 weeks kami walang Internet. in the past, I tried to ask for a rebate but I've been unsuccessful on this. will try to avail for a rebate again. baka ngayon makuha ko na.

maganda yung location natin bro kasi lapit lang office ng destiny eh... and knowing na cable internet itop.. hindi lahat ito ang usual na pinapakabit kasi more on DSL phoneline ang alam nila...

hiwalay ang bayad mo monthly sa cable and internet di ba?! so abutin ng 1500 ang monthly. 500 sa cable tapos 1k sa internet..

ganu katagal yung linya mo bago naikabit?!.. text mo ko para makuha ko agad reply mo heheh biriha na ako maka pag online russ..

Sabi dun sa isang blog tungkol sa Desitny Internet, pwede ka bumili ng splitter at split mo yung cable into your modem and TV..

Never tried it yet though..
