Yung Lexing, sa Quiapo lang daw nanggaling. Less than Php2k.

Pero may-FR yung kapatid ko, madami na din daw nito sa St. Francis Square. Mas maganda na porma and mas madami na ata games. Mga Php2k pa din daw.

Yes you can. My AVL ADP 2700XM has mp3 support. The usb is specifically for hooking up portable mp3 players.

Plus although the manual doesn't mention it, it also plays raw mpeg1/mpeg2 video and wma sound files. When I tried playing some wmv files, it played only the audio.

You do want to use faster flash drives (connected via usb) because the older, slower ones causes the video/audio to go out of sync.

Although my AVL has an SD card slot, I have no SD cards at the moment. But as soon as I can find some 4GB ones, I'll try it out.

Just burn a data dvd+/-r/rw with divx movie files in it on your pc. On mine, I just drag and drop with Vista RC1.

A 4.7GB platter should be able to hold 5-7 full-length Divx movies.

My Divx files use the avi container. Hence on screen:

Depends on the size of the file. For example, the Pirates of the Carribean I got already took up 2.8 GB (4 Files, 700 Mb/file).

It is possible to accomodate more movies but at the expense of quality due to the lower bit-rate.

On a regular 20" crt tv, they look quite good and often hard to tell from the dvd original until the movie hits a black area where I might see a few pixels. I normally render the Divx movies at a res of 512 x 384 for the full-screen ones. On tv, the quality is about as good as a brand new VHS movie and much less pixelated than a vcd/svcd. I'd say it's on par with the movies from DirectTV.

The pixelization showing here would be hard to see on a regular tv......

The ghosting is due to to camera movement on my part. Overall image quality on tv is much better than the tv screencap.

My ultimate goal is to stuff these movies into a portable media center with Divx capability. So, 512 x 384 is a good balance between watching on a tiny screen and a regular tv. File sizes average around 720mb per movie.

Add: Pirates 1 on mine is about 719mb. I used AutoGK to make the Divx files and set the file size to 1 CD.

Regular TV resolution yata is 320 x 200 kaya enough na yung 512 x 384... DVD is 720 x XXX yata hence the 720p HD TVs... tapos sabi nila no noticeable difference sa movies pag 720p, 1080i at 1080p kaya safe bet is to encode using 720p resolution... Kasi pang games lang naman yata mag benefit sa 1080i at 1080p e.... But then again our monitors sa PC, we all use 1024 x 768 resolution right???? so there are really choices & decisions to make... baka safe ang 800 x 600 resolution....

Got our Xenon player before Christmas. Was finally able to test the USB feature last night. So far so good

Took a while to read a 1GB USB drive filled to the gills with DIVX AVIs but it was plain sailing after that. It plays the first track automatically. It displays the directory when Stop is pressed. Only the first 8 characters of the filename are displayed (memories of DOS anyone?) so episode numbers ideally have to be in those first 8 characters.

Got it for slightly less than 3k at Blims GH.

Finally found a format na di kaya ng Lexing ko, Divx. Sayang! Sa player nakamark yung divx. Happy pa rin ako kasi it plays scrathed discs that hang on my laptop and other dvd players.

It probably plays Divx movies. But, make sure those movies uses the Xvid codec and of course, the avi container.

You can use Divx Player which is part of the free Divx package. Once the movie is playing Alt-I will bring up the file info. I just tried playing a d/l pr0n (used the Divx codec) and it wouldn't play on the dvd player.

All the movie Divx conversions I made work perfectly and they all used the Xvid codec.

Did the Alt I thing on divx player this is what I got:

    SC-S1E06.divx
    Filename:
    D:/SC-S1E06.divx

    Video Track #1:
    FOURCC: "DX50" (DivX® Video)
    512x288, 23,976000 fps

    Audio Track #1:
    FormatTag : "85" (MPEG-1 Layer-3 Audio (mp3))
    2 channels, 44100Hz
    Language: N/A

Does this mean that it uses the DX50 codec or DivX codec?

Yup, it uses the Divx codec. AVI's using that codec won't play on my DVD player either. You need those that use the Xvid codec. Go figure.......
