have it brought to the sony repair shop po.
raon might be cheaper and they might even be able to fix it, but... hirap punta raon.. masikip.. matrapik.. madaming tao.. malayo paradahan, jeepney stop, or bus stop, sa pintuan ng repair shop.
the sony repair shop near kalaw has parking 2 feet from the door.
whatever problem you may be able to diagnose DIY-style, you will still have to bring it to the fixit shop, unless you are an electronics-repair savvy..
and no... they do not pad repair expenses, as far as i know..
magkano repair fee? natural, depende kung ano ang nasira.. mura lang diagnosis fee.. they will even advise you if it "is not worth repairing"..

we had experience comparing sony repair shop versus ex-sony technician.. hindi nagkakalayo..

Stay away of Raon as surely you'll be in more trouble than having it fix. For one, LCD tvs goes by board level repairs meaning palit board, rather than component level lang. This is how they are gonna take care of pag sa service center. But then, highly qualified techs an gagawa at cgurado kang it will be fixed. Your cheap version will be a trusted neighborhood electronics repair shop who has the ability to diagnose device level on pcb. He should have the right tools though rather than a trial & error method.

YOu can bring it to a Sony Centre near you.

If they can't fix it, they will instead give you an 8K voucher so you can have an 8k discount for your next tv purchase (which of course, is a Sony).

Same thing happened to an aunt, her old Sony LCD TV conked out (screen was damaged, because something was thrown at it). She bought a 40" WB600 internet TV instead. She's almost 80 so she's not really into internet but she just bought it because I recommended it (for her grandchildren).

Guys, wala namang amoy sunog sa likod ng TV. Still no signal nung kinabit ko yung laptop through HDMI, same with Xbox. Blackout talaga ang display and no sound.

We've decided na sa Sony Service Center na dalhin yung unit. PhP600 ang checkup fee. Kung lumabas na yung total repair cost at malapit lang sa brand new baka hindi na namin ituloy ang pagpapagawa.

Maraming salamat guys sa input nyo, I really appreciate it. Thanks!

sir, 'yan po ba 'yung "Automatic Voltage Regulator"?

di ba hindi na po kailangan 'yan kasi "AutoVolt" na ang mga LCD TVs ngayon?

What everybody needs but is usually ignored, is proper grounding (that third prong on most plugs). Unfortunately, this is not a common practice in residential wiring because of the added cost during construction. If they do employ 3-holed receptacles, it may not even have a functional ground.

AVRs, surge suppressors, UPSes, including most appliances that employs a built-in surge suppression circuit, works best only if it can find the path of least resistance to dissipate the electrical surge. This is to say that these surge suppressors will only work if a path to ground exists. Otherwise, extensive damage to sensitive components can occur and may even cause injury to nearby people who may be touching the equipment at the time of the strike.

When I had my home renovated, I insisted that areas where high-valued appliances were situated (ie. main computer, home theater, server closet, water heaters and the whole kitchen for safety) were to have a functional three-hole grounded outlets. Touching a metal sink or faucet while your other hand accidentally touching an ungrounded appliance will oftentimes results to electrocution.

Fyi, another entry point for surge is through the cable TV/internet and telephone/DSL).
