    We still have subscription with Converge, speed is stable (thankfully).

    To share my experience with EQ, errr PLDT -

    When I moved to a new condo, the whole building was newly turned over by the developer and being an Ayala project, they only allow Globe services. I patiently waited for Globe to finish their installation of their infra but for some reason they were slow I had to used a prepaid wifi which was too costly. I mentioned to EQ about it and he casually told me that he will call someone. In 24 hours, a pldt rep visited me and after checking the cabling informed me that there is a way for pldt to give me a fiber line. All I had to do was inform the PMO to allow PLDT to perform some installation and configuration. 2 days after, I got my 20 mbps fiber! I learned from the lobby that I was the first one in the whole building to get a pldt connection!

    My prepaid wifi, I loaned it to egan so he will spend a lot on it!

    Hahaha. Di ko na ginamit yun, bro. When we moved to our temporary house, we just got a new line from PLDT and it was done quite fast. I didn’t had to resort to using the prepaid wifi.

    Comverge really helps a lot of folks whom PLDT wasnt able to serve or serve properly. And because of that, PLDT is rapidly upping its game. More people will be covered by fiber. Old copper will be retired and be replaced by new fiber.

    If I may share my experience with PLDT, my father had a problem with his landline and internet connection. I didn't know about it that it has been several weeks and the family business is somewhat affected.

    I told my brother that I'll see what I can do. So I asked *EQAddict if he can assist us. As you have said, he casually called someone to inform about it.

    My father was so astonished that the following day, two men were at my father's house and it got fixed right away!

    My father asked me who is the guy that I talked to, insisting that he meets with him to personally thank him! I answered him saying, "Pa, he is glad to be of service and received well our thanks."

    One of my neighbors who is on Converge is now complaining, who was very enthusiastic before and encouraging us to switch from PLDT.

    I really made the right decision, not to switch to Converge and remain with PLDT.

    Pareho pala tayong stuck pa sa jurassic DSL. I'd take the offer. If you are hesitant to have the upgrade done because of the seniors in the house, there are ways to stay safe pa rin naman. You just need a UV lamp with timer and some black out curtains. If you want to watch the install, you could also get an IP cam.

    PLDT has only started rolling out fiber in our area. I'm eagerly waiting for the upgrade. I have had our ACs cleaned and an additional TV cable line installed just recently. Just blasted the area with UV C then wiped down the touch surfaces with disinfectant after.

    reason why there are so few telecom companies is coz of high barrier to entry

    napakalaking puhunan kailangan and not easy to run business

    walang laban ang baguhan na converge sa long time player na pldt

    dekada ang experience ng pldt lahat ng problema sa ganyan business naranasan na sila at meron na sila solusyon

    si converge learning to walk palang

    they probably bit off more than they can chew

    too many customers agad di kinaya ang after sales service

    Wala naman akong special experience with Converge. It works about 90% of the time, sometimes acts up during afternoons when I need it most for video calls.

    Sulit yung 1600/month na 35 mbps plan, more mb per peso than any competitor. But I just hope I stay lucky na walang issue sa line ko kasi alam kong wala akong aasahang customer service.

    So Converge in a nutshell - great value when it works, tough luck for you when it doesn't.

    In our case bro., mababa ang 90% uptime...

    Our house standard is 99.5%uptime, kahit medyo mabagal occasionally...

    Nandito mga boss namin e.😉

    Ah yeah bihira naman yung LOS talaga. Happened I think twice palang this entire ECQ.

    But for me slow internet is just as bad because I need a fast connection for my video calls and downloading lots of heavy files over email as well as connecting to our server for Excel database downloads.

    In our limited experience, MS Teams is not a big bandwidth hugger. But SAP is...

    Our average download a month is over 1TB...

    Yun na nga eh, Teams isn't a bandwidth hog pero frequent pa rin na lag ang Teams ko pag afternoon. More than the speed, the latency also. Dumadalas timeout in the afternoon.

    IMO, that's a real concern with the Converge ISP, especially if one is an active participant in the videocon, not just an audience who could fall out and back in..
