I've been a big fan of "demos" which showcased the capabilities of computers at the time. Two of my favorites......

This one for the Amiga in 1987 is what got me to switch from pc's at the time.
Newtek Demoreel 1. Not bad for something running from 2 floppies:

In 1993, pc's started coming into their own with demos like this one.

first video's sound clip of the ever so trusty floppy drive accessing disks send shivers down my spine - lost too many mbs of important data because of faulty floppy and zip drives. good times. good times.

Amigas (and Macs) tended to have "smart" floppy drives. They autodetect inserted floppies much like Windows autodetect usb flash devices. I've lost a few floppies from age or just plain going bad. But most of my Amiga floppies have outlasted the computers they were used for. In fact, I have a number of 720k (880k on the Amiga) floppy disks from the late 80's still in use today.
