Xbox 360 Game Console
to Double as a Television: Bill Gates
Microsoft announced its Xbox 360 video game console would deliver television and movies via the Internet by the end of the year.
The Redmond, Washington-based software giant made the announcement in a grand ballroom packed with more than 4,000 people in Las Vegas on the eve of the opening of the world's largest consumer electronics show.
"Our goal is to make entertainment more personal, more interactive and more social," Microsoft devices division president Robbie Bach said at the news conference.
The IPTV (Internet protocol television) capability would enable users to watch television or films while playing video games or chatting on the Internet via Xbox consoles, according to Microsoft

January 9th, 2007 04:07 AM #62^they already offer movies via xbox live. yun nga lang rental (your viewing rights expire after a certain time....14 days yata). that doesn't meet my needs, but if they ever offer it for sale and allow me to burn dvd's i might consider it (home run would be to be playable on an ipod video, but i know that's not likely)

PS3 and Wii pa rin for the next-gen console war.

March 6th, 2007 03:21 AM #68yung component hd av cable lang kaya limited ng 720p yung gaming experience. ewan ko lang sa hd-dvd unit ng xbox 360. i think gamit pa rin yata yung hd av cable.

Ghost Recon 2 (bukas na ang labas sa XBox 360. sa June 01, 2007 pa para sa PS3) din maganda. at saka yung Ghost Recon 1 maganda din. Rainbow Six Vegas Edition ok naman (kaya nga lang bitin ang ending). ang PS3 iisa lang ang magandang game nila ngayon (Resistance Fall of Man). ang game ko lang sa PS3 ay NBA 2k7. mga palpak ang mga ibang games ng PS3 ngayon (at tatagal yan ng ilang bwan)...ang tagal kasi nilang maglabas ng mga new titles eh..nauunahan ngayon sila ng XBox 360. kaya mabubulok na parang itlog ang PS3 ngayon. ang magandang game lang na malapit ng lumabas sa PS3 ay Rainbow Six Vegas Edition (nasa XBox 360 na). Nintendo Wii natin is due first quarter ng 2008 (Asian version). Kaya siguro my X360 would have to come cguro around second quarter next year.
