Choice of Canon Powershhot camera

Hi All.

Just been reading the thread on Canon Digital Camera defect but I'll still have to buy one.
Which one will have the best price / performance of the following :

S3 IS
A630
A710 IS
A640.

Been reading a few reviews in the web and it's just so hard to choose.
Basically , I'm leaning towards the A630 ... but not quite.

Yeah, I think if you have the money, get the S3 IS. I'm assuming you're more interested in good photos than a small package.

S3IS for me then A710 IS

I have been using the Powershot A620 which is almost the same as the A630/640 except that the new models have higher resolution. I wouldn't recommend the S3 IS as it is quite big. I was going to get the A710 IS except that the LCD is not adjustable. the rotating LCD on the A6XX series is very useful for self portraits. If you need the digital camera now, the A710 IS is your best choice as it is quite small and has the image stabilization feature that makes blurred pictures due to jitter a thing of the past.

my officemate have a S3 IS, di ko feel yung quality ng pictures nya. parang grainy masyado especially at higher ISO's (>100), or di lang marunong gumamit officemate ko

A710IS for me, its reasonably more compact than the other models.

among your choices, its gonna be the S3 IS.
all of my three cameras now are canon.

my oldest is the Powershot G5. dito ako unang natuto ng basic photography.

my second is a powershot A610. eto gamit ko pag kailangan ko lang ng maliit na unit and portability.

my newest canon baby is a D300. bought it last year.

Thanks for all your replies and inputs.
I think I'll go for the S3 IS then.
I'm a bit of the old school and been using Nikon FM2 for my photos til now.
Time to move on to digital , I suppose
Anway, the price difference between S3 IS and A640 is minimal as per the prices seen in the web.
I plan to buy the digital camera at the Dubai duty free shops while in transit.

S3 IS or A710 IS. But if I were you, I'd keep my FM2. It's a good camera.
